Amit Shah, Home Minister and senior BJP leader, on Wednesday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remark on reservations, saying it has once again exposed the Congress’ anti-reservation stance.
Shah sent a stern message to Gandhi: as long as the BJP is there, no one can abolish the reservations and no one can endanger the security of the country.
Shah’s comments came after Gandhi told students at Georgetown University in the US that Congress would consider abolishing the reservations when “India is a fair place”, which he said is not the case at present.
In a post on X, Shah said, “Collaborating with forces that conspire to divide the country and making anti-national statements has become a habit for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.” He added that whether it was supporting the “anti-national and anti-reservation agenda” of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir or making “anti-India statements” on foreign platforms, Rahul Gandhi “has always threatened the security of the country” and hurt sentiments.
“Rahul Gandhi’s statement exposes the Congress’s policy of creating rifts on the grounds of regionalism, religion and linguistic differences. By talking about abolishing reservations in the country, Rahul Gandhi has once again brought out the anti-reservation face of the Congress,” Shah wrote.
The Home Minister said the thoughts going through the mind of the Leader of the Opposition Lok Sabha have finally been translated into words.
“I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that as long as the BJP is there, no one can abolish reservations and no one can disturb the security of the country,” he said.
