Amir shares Lamaisah, 10, Alayna, six, and four-year-old Muhammad with his wife of 10 years.

The couple split their time between Dubai, London and Khan’s native Bolton.

It comes after Amir admitted he put his £11.5million luxury wedding venue up for sale because he didn’t know how to run it.

The former world light welterweight boxing champion revealed there have been no ‘serious’ offers yet for the Dubai-style tower, which was dogged by problems before hosting its first wedding in May this year.

He insisted he was getting ‘a good rent’ from the company but now wants to transfer the Bolton property to someone else and concentrate on other projects.

Amir only opened the tower, with glass walls, a waterfall and palm trees inside, earlier this year.

The site called ‘The Balmayna’ is next to a car body shop and car wash in the heart of Bolton, and in January it was surrounded by piles of rubbish including broken fridges, sofas and dirty mattresses.

Khan announced on

The former boxer, who won silver at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, invited interested parties to contact him by email.

Amir’s £11.5million luxury wedding venue in Bolton has finally hosted its first wedding after a series of problems

Now he has opened up about what led to his decision to sell, which is telling Action network: ‘I built it and now I want to do something else. I want to buy more things and something different.

‘With the wedding venue, I don’t know how to run the wedding hall. For me it is a business that I will not be involved in myself. I have to hand it over to someone else to rent it for me.

‘I’ve spent so much money on it, but it’s no fun not running it myself. I really want to be involved in this and I’m not. That’s the reason. I thought maybe I should sell it and move on to something else that I could do. He’s just standing there and I’m collecting the rent.’

Reports estimate Khan’s investment in the venue at amounts ranging from £5 million to £12.5 million, although he says it has ‘made me money without doing anything’.

He has insisted he does not need to sell, rejecting suggestions he has ‘failed’ – although he acknowledged that life in Dubai, where he spends much of his time, was proving costly.

Amir said: ‘It’s a fun thing. You set it up yourself and you get a good rent there and make good money, but if you can’t have a business and run it yourself or be part of the blood, sweat and tears, then I think it’s so different.

‘I finished it completely and it looks beautiful at all weddings. It puts a smile on the faces of millions of people.’
