America’s poshest trailer park where homes go for up to $5.6 MILLION is quietly sold for staggering sum

A luxury trailer park in California offering a country club lifestyle, ocean views and direct beach access has sold for about $200 million.

Pointe Dume Club, a 38-acre residential complex in Malibu, is a prestigious neighborhood along the Zuma Beach coast where homes sell for an average of $2.1 million to $5.6 million.

The location on the Pointe Dume promontory is the largest private oceanfront property in Malibu, according to the Los Angeles Times.

And now, for the first time since its purchase in 1892, the lavish estate is officially changing hands.

Although the sale price was never disclosed, a source familiar with the details of the deal estimates the sale price at nearly $200 million, the highest price ever achieved by a home-building company, the LA Times reported.

The lavish trailer park has 297 homes and offers amenities in the 24-hour gated community, such as a heated swimming pool, saunas, a tennis court, a basketball court, shops and restaurants

The park was sold to one of the largest owners of manufactured homes in America, Chicago-based Hometown America Communities, which already operates nearly 80 mobile homes in 12 states.

Located on the western tip of Santa Monica Bay and just 50 feet from the expansive white sands of Zuma Beach, the luxury trailer park features 297 homes.

Despite the new ownership, Pointe Dume will continue to operate as it always has. There are no plans to redevelop the park in any way.

“We are excited to add Pointe Dume to our family of communities in California,” the company said in a statement, according to the LA Times.

“Pointe Dume is a beautiful property and we intend to manage it in the same manner as the previous owners, honoring current leases and complying with all local regulations.”

“Hometown is a long-term investor and we value the long-term viability of the market and our communities.”

Amenities include a heated swimming pool, saunas, tennis court, basketball court, car wash, library, laundry facilities, playground, card room and clubhouse – all in this quiet, family-friendly, 24-hour gated community.

With a beach right on the doorstep, a school nearby, and shops and restaurants nearby, residents can truly experience Malibu life here.

You can even drive a golf cart through most of the streets around Pointe Dume.

An astonishing estimate of 22 million people live in trailer parks in America. For many, it is an affordable way to own a home.

But a beach house, especially in California, is always expensive, and Malibu’s lush trailer park is no exception.

Pointe Dume Club is one of two mobile home communities in Malibu, the other being Paradise Cove.

Paradise Cove was named “America’s Most Glamorous Trailer Park” by the New York Times after A-listers like Matthew McConaughey and Pamela Anderson began snapping up the property, according to Love property.

Pointe Dume Club is considered one of the more “affordable” options when purchasing real estate in Malibu.

But the price tag proves otherwise: it’s a trailer park for the rich and famous.

Considered one of America's most luxurious trailer parks, Pointe Dume Club is located on the western tip of Santa Monica Bay along the shoreline and just 50 feet from the expansive white sands of Zuma Beach.

Over the years it has become a vacation destination for many celebrities, including Bob Dylan, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson, who are currently residents of Pointe Dume, according to Robb report.

Stephanie Gilmore, a professional Australian surfer, was a woman who spent her life on the road, but found a forever home at the Pointe Dume Club.

As long as she has a surfboard and a body of water, she’s happy. She spent her years traveling, but the glamorous mobile home community of Malibu was a perfect place to settle down.

“It’s kind of like a little country club for mermaids in Malibu,” Gilmore said in a YouTube video from NOWNESS.

Malibu is a historic surfing location and with a beach right on your doorstep, there’s no better place to base yourself.

She even calls the sandy beach right outside her door her ‘office’.

Last April, former Facebook CFO Gideon Yu paid $52 million for a hilltop estate in Pointe Dume — all in cash.

According to Robb Report, this is the highest sales price ever for a single-family home on Pointe Dume.

What is even more surprising is that the prices only refer to the mobile home itself.

The residents have to rent the land from the owner after purchasing the house.

While Yu’s new vacation home was never actually put on the market, you can search the Internet for homes currently for sale in the community.

But the cheapest price tag around seems to be at least a million.

For now, the Pointe Dume trailer park will remain a dream for most.
