America’s best ‘foodie’ cities REVEALED: Knives out as NYC fails to crack Top 10 for quality, affordability and diversity – and No. 1 on the menu will give you food for thought

Eat your heart out, New Yorkers. WalletHub recently released a list of the 182 best “foodie” cities in the US and the Big Apple failed to make the top 10.

The list was published by the outlet on Monday and ranked cities based on affordability, diversity, accessibility and other key factors that make a city perfect for foodies.

Most notably, Florida and California each have three of their cities in the top 10, while the Golden State takes a total of 15 of the top 100 spots on the list.

The nation’s capital ranked at number 17, while Los Angeles claimed number 13 and New York came in at a lowly number 20 out of 182.

Which city came in at number 1? Here’s a hint: Mickey, Minnie and their friends might agree that this Florida city is great for foodies.

Number 5 overall is San Francisco, California

Seattle, Washington came in at number 10 on the list

If you guessed Orlando, Florida, you’d be right.

The city – home to Walt Disney World – ranked 108th in affordability, but third in diversity, accessibility and quality.

Rounding out the top five includes Portland, Oregon at No. 2; Sacramento, California at No. 3; Miami, Florida at number 4; San Francisco, California at number 5.

A third California city – San Diego – also made the top 10, landing at No. 7, just behind Tampa, Florida.

Las Vegas, Nevada; Austin, TX; and Seattle, Washington round out the top 10.

Miami – ranked No. 3 overall – received the No. 1 ranking in diversity, accessibility and quality, while San Francisco was ranked No. 2 in that category.

The most affordable foodie city according to the website is Laredo, Texas, which earned the overall number 102 spot.

By comparison, New York City scored a surprising 179 out of 182 for affordability, but No. for diversity, accessibility and quality.

Orlando, Florida took the No. 1 spot on the list overall and 108th in terms of affordability. It also claimed third place for diversity, accessibility and quality

The list was published by the outlet on Monday and ranked cities based on affordability, diversity, accessibility and other key factors that make a city perfect for foodies.

However, the list doesn’t just refer to restaurants and food vendors.

‘Of course, being a foodie can be quite expensive, especially in times of high inflation’ WalletHub noted.

According to data from WalletHub, restaurant prices increased 6.5 percent between August 2022 and August 2023, making it harder for people to get out.

Grocery costs also increased by three percent in the same period.
