America’s Best City for Singles Has Been Revealed: Buffalo, New York has surpassed the country’s major metropolises to take the number one spot.

Singles paradise won a glowing review in new research from the thriving psychology centerwhich found that it has the highest number of single women per capita in the country.

It also has the ninth-most single men and the third-most single people overall per capita, according to the data, which also found that three-quarters of singles struggle to find a partner without using a dating app.

Buffalo’s position as the best place for relationship averse was cemented in a 2022 study conducted by loan treewhich scientifically calculated which major city is the friendliest for singles.

The western New York city surpassed Cleveland, Ohio, for first place, thanks to its low rents, short commutes and large numbers of people living alone.

Low rents and a thriving bar scene are the most attractive qualities for America’s single population.

Buffalo residents said the unique scene is so good that “you don’t have to try very hard.”

Among America’s “most single-friendly” cities, 55.4 percent of single Buffalo residents helped it to the top.

The affordability of the metro is one of its most attractive qualities, with data from RentCafe find that the cost of living is 39 percent below the New York State average and five percent below that of the nations as a whole.

Not having to split the rent allows singles in Buffalo to live alone, a draw factor that has helped beat places like Louisville, Kentucky, and Detroit, Michigan.

Also in the top 10 singles-friendly US cities, according to the data, are St. Louis, New Orleans, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh.

But California’s unlucky lovebirds may find their hometowns on the opposite list, with San Jose and San Francisco taking home the top spots for worst areas to be alone.

Six of the 10 worst cities to be single are all in California. Compared to Buffalo, its unique community experiences longer trips and more expensive dates, while the potential pool is also much smaller.

Joining them on the list of least singles-friendly places are Seattle, New York, and Dallas, with other California cities Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and Riverside also in the top 10.

The rankings were calculated based on seven variables to determine which of the top 50 metropolitan areas in the United States are the best for being single.

Median income for a single person, monthly housing costs for foreclosed homes, rental prices, how many residents live alone, and a city’s single population were used to compile the list.

The average commute to and from work and non-family owner-occupied households were also used to create the ranges.

Talking with him New York Post On what makes Buffalo so attractive to singles, residents said its affordable rents and lively nightlife win the day.

“You have this lifestyle here, a very quiet lifestyle,” said professional matchmaker Therese Forton, 60.

“Whether your love is the arts and theater or our sports teams, it’s all affordable.”

Resident Trevor Kearns, 29, said the large number of single women and Buffalo’s thriving bar scene make it a bachelor’s dream.

“When it comes to casual dating, you don’t have to try too hard,” she said.

“There’s not a lot of pressure to settle down,” added bartender Thomas Crane. “There are a lot of single young people who only focus on themselves.”

“You don’t need someone to share the rent with you,” said Steve Carr, a 32-year-old man who currently pays $825 for a two-bedroom apartment.

“I’ve lived alone for seven years and I couldn’t even imagine living with a partner.”

Research from the thriving psychology center it also produced some eye-opening statistics on America’s single population.

Many people believe dating has never been more difficult, with 56 percent feeling it was easier in years past, though 69 percent saying they were happy being single.

A thriving nightlife is one of the most desirable aspects of a city for single Americans.

And as rampant inflation continues to plague the US economy, more than one in three said they’ve gone on fewer appointments to save a couple of bucks.

For those who can get a date, 49 percent agree that it is socially acceptable to do some research on them before meeting.

Nearly one in five admitted to running a background check on their potential matches, and 14 percent admitted on their dates that they looked them up online first.

In the competitive jungle of online dating, 35 percent of people said they don’t feel safe using an app to find someone, including 49 percent of women.

One in seven who use the apps admitted they don’t like using it, however 75 per cent also said they find it difficult to find a date without searching online.

Three in four people also said they think Valentine’s Day is overrated, with 24 per cent of single women routinely planning their own ‘Galentine’s Day’ among friends.

Spokane, Washington holds the unenviable title for most divorces per capita in the US, followed by Jacksonville, Florida and Reno, Nevada.
