The top 10 US beaches to visit this year have been revealed by the world’s largest travel guidance platform, and there are some unexpected gems on the list.
The list, compiled from reviews on Tripadvisor over a one-year period, marks the second Travelers’ Choice Award for the Best of the Best Beaches.
The 2024 roster stretches from coast to coast and includes beaches from eight different states across the country.
Topping the list are two Hawaiian beaches and one beach in Florida, with Ka’anapali Beach in Lahaina, Hawaii securing the coveted number one spot.
Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Florida, and Poipu Beach Park in Poipu, Hawaii follow in second and third place, respectively.

Tripadvisor also ranked the top-rated stretches of sand for 2024 around the world.
The number one beach to add to your bucket list is Praia da Falesia in Portugal’s Algarve, according to the travel site, which awarded it first place in the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards for Beaches of 2024.
It moves six-time champion Baia do Sancho in Brazil out of the top spot in the rankings, which are derived from the quality and quantity of Tripadvisor traveler reviews and ratings for beaches worldwide, collected between October 2022 and September 2023.

In the European rankings, first place Praia da Falesia, second place Spiaggia dei Conigli and third place La Concha Beach, followed by the ‘stunning’ Reynisfjara Beach in Vik, Iceland, in fourth place.
It is one of two Icelandic coastlines that made it into the European top 10. Vik’s Black Sand Beach – a new entry for 2024 – is in tenth place.
