Americans across the country have reacted to Donald Trump’s astonishing political comeback, revealing where they think Kamala Harris went wrong.
The 78-year-old Trump won a remarkable victory in the 2024 presidential election, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the key swing states of North Carolina, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, the vice president is on track for the worst Electoral College result since 1988 once all the votes are counted.
Many voters have since expressed relief at the outcome, claiming Harris and the Democrats don’t know what the American people really want.
“She has completely misinterpreted her voters. And you know, it wasn’t as tight as it should have been. And I think Democrats are going to have to take that into account,” said Crystal Boya, a Harris voter from Milwaukee.
Many people expressed relief at the election results on Wednesday, admitting that Harris and the Democrats don’t know what the American people really want.
Some voters said they supported Trump because they felt Harris could not be trusted with foreign policy and worried the country could go to war
Some voters said they supported Trump because they felt Harris could not be trusted with foreign policy and worried the country could go to war.
“I do not believe the Democratic Party in its current form is capable of leading the United States into a major conflict and I believe this is where we are headed, thanks in large part to this administration,” said South Carolina Trump supporter James Bessinger.
“So if I’m given a choice between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, who’s going to lead the military in what could be World War III, I have to tip my hat to Donald Trump for that matter.”
Harris voter Soufyaan Edouard in Washington DC added: “I’m honestly very disappointed, but I saw this coming last year, especially when everything happened in Gaza. But even before that, when Joe Biden announced he was running for president again, I just saw a lack of enthusiasm.”

Others said they felt Democrats had abandoned them and voted for Trump because they thought the country was better under his leadership.
“Democrats just seem to be sticking to the party line. And I don’t think they, they really look at the numbers. You know, I think they’re making decisions with a little more emotion and less analysis,” said Wisconsin Trump voter Ben Vollmer.
“At the end of the day, I just look at the record and I felt like the country was better off and better managed under Trump.”
North Carolina Brick and Stone Mason Bobby McMahan concluded, “I think Donald Trump is the man to get the job done. He has proven that, despite all these setbacks that piled on him to make a comeback. To win the popular vote and the electoral vote. So he is the man for the job. He has a good team behind him.’
