Mold forms on rubber toys and ducks because they are kept in a humid environment.
Water enters the toy through the hole, mixes with the bath soap, and rots to create mold.
To prevent mold growth, bath toys should be thoroughly cleaned and dried after use; however, it can be very difficult to get all the water out of toys with holes in them.
