An American man kidnapped in Mexico has been found in the jungle with his eyes taped shut and his hands tied together.

Joseph Constantine Buonincontri, 35, was forcibly abducted from his home in Limones on February 4. Three days later he was discovered alive after several men demanded a ransom of $200,000.

The New York resident was dramatically rescued by the Mexican army after a tip-off from locals who saw armed men driving a taxi from Tulum to the remote area.

Stunning footage shows him found tied up under a makeshift shelter in the wilderness in Mexico’s Quintana Roo province.

In the video, a terrified Buonincontri is seen sitting on the ground with his wrists and ankles tied together.

Breathtaking footage shows how he was found tied up under a makeshift shelter in the wilderness in Mexico’s Quintana Roo province.

As the army approaches, they ask if he is okay and if he wants some water.

But Buonincontri is just begging for a cigarette and an easing of his restrictions.

The clip was posted on bordelandbeat.com and translated the entire conversation in which a soldier tells the prisoner that they were sent by the Mexican Army’s 7th Motorized Cavalry Regiment to help him.

You see the officer motioning to his comrades not to come closer while he talks to Buonincontri.

The prisoner tells him that he is originally from New York, but lives in Quintana Roo.

“Do you remember the day you were kidnapped?” the soldier asks.

‘No, I don’t remember the day. I don’t even know what day this is,” Buonincontri replies.

Authorities said they also recovered a backpack containing marijuana, a tactical vest and loaded magazines for an AR-15 from the scene.

The inmate told investigators that he had been snatched by “unknown people,” Mexican daily news reported.

The attorney general’s office of Quintana Roo state said in a statement that Buonincontri was located thanks to a joint effort between the Mexican National Guard, state police and the military.
