An American journalist burst into tears during a live broadcast after Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales, 42, announced in a heartfelt video message on Friday that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing ‘preventative’ chemotherapy.

‘About her credibility (questions like) ‘is she a liar’, ‘did she lie about the photo’, ‘do I really think she photoshopped the photo’?

She went on to say that cancer was “so scary and upsetting,” and praised Vanessa for exuding a “joyful” spirit on the TV platform.

She then said she was “angry” at “Kim Kardashians” and “John Olivers” for “making fun of the situation.”

Kim Kardashian was recently criticized by fans for her Instagram post ‘On the way to find Kate’ – days before the Royal announced she was battling cancer.

And British talk show host John Oliver sparked outrage last week after making a joke about the Princess of Wales, saying she “could have died 18 months ago.”

The journalist was visibly red in the face and fighting back tears as he defended the future monarch.

The presenter, 62, whose ex Ben Ofoedu, 51, was spotted with new girlfriend Precious Muir in London this week, launched a tirade against those spewing ‘malicious nonsense’ about the princess.

She added: ‘I’m baffled at how some imbecilic idiots who decide to write something malicious, entirely of their own invention, on their smartphones has somehow been an avalanche that has gained momentum and has gained strength.

‘Then sensible and credible journalists like you, journalists at the BBC – my former colleagues – are somehow forced to give some credence to this utter nonsense by A – having to acknowledge that it exists and B – commenting on it gives’.

She then offered her support to Kinsey, saying that if she hadn’t anchored the news show, she too would have burst into tears.

I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding while I was recovering from surgery.

It’s been an incredibly tough few months for our whole family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.

In January I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was deemed to be non-cancerous. The operation was successful. However, tests after the surgery revealed that cancer was present. My medical team therefore recommended that I undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

This obviously came as a huge shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

As you can imagine, this has taken time. It took me time to recover from major surgery before I could start my treatment. But the most important thing is that it took us time to explain everything

George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them, and to reassure them that I will be fine.

As I told them; I am doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit.

It is also a great source of comfort and reassurance to have William by my side. As does the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us.

We hope you understand that we as a family now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

At this time I also think of all those whose lives have been touched by cancer. To anyone facing this disease in any form, please do not lose faith and hope. You are not alone.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace said on Saturday: ‘The Prince and Princess have both been hugely touched by the kind messages from people here in Britain, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’ message.

“They are extremely touched by the warmth and support of the public and are grateful for their understanding of their request for privacy at this time.”

Flowers were laid by well-wishers outside royal palaces yesterday, with a heartfelt note attached to a bouquet left at Windsor Castle capturing the feelings of many.

Hashtags including ‘WeLoveYouCatherine’ and ‘GetWellSoonCatherine’ were trending on social media site X all day yesterday.

Since then, a host of famous faces have rallied behind the Princess of Wales, including Davina McCall, Kate Garraway and Fearne Cotton, calling her ‘brave’ and sending their ‘thoughts and prayers’.

Amanda Holden, TV presenter Lorraine Kelly and Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones have also written sweet messages to the princess.
