American Idol winner Laine Hardy proposes to pregnant girlfriend Jordan Gautreau: ‘So excited for this chapter of our lives’
American Idol winner Laine Hardy’s life just keeps getting better.
The 2019 winner has proposed to his girlfriend Jordan Gautreau and she is expecting their first child.
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native shared a short video clip and several photos on Instagram in a joint post with Jordan to announce the news.
“The secret is out… I’m having his babyyy,” the caption began.
“We are so excited for this chapter in our lives. We are excited for God’s plan for us. The biggest surprise and the easiest YES! We can’t wait for our new title as parents and to start planning a wedding.”

Hardy and Gautreau, a cheerleader for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, have not said how they met or fell in love.
The country singer rose to fame after winning season 17 of American Idol in 2019.
“I was only 17 years old when I first auditioned for American Idol and I had no idea where it would take me,” Hardy wrote on Instagram in October 2022.
“Since then I’ve been able to tour all over America, play for our troops in Asia, and make new fans in Europe. I’ve had to grow up fast and I’m still learning more about myself every day.”
He has largely disappeared from the public eye since 2022, when he was arrested for planting a wiretap in his ex-girlfriend’s dorm room to spy on her at Louisiana State University.
Legal documents show he monitored her phone calls, including conversations she had with her mother about their breakup.
According to the documents, the musician’s voice was said to have been heard when the device was inserted.
An anonymous source told the Louisiana news station at the time WAFB that Hardy was accused of spying on a female LSU resident.

Hardy confirmed the news on Instagram at the time, writing, “Today I was served with an arrest warrant for the allegations made against me and I have fully cooperated with the Louisiana State University Police Department.
‘I realize that my career has put me in the spotlight and I embrace that wholeheartedly because my entire world belongs to my music and my fans.
‘Given the sensitive nature of this allegation, I humbly request your privacy at this time.
“I have the utmost respect for the law and will cooperate with the further investigation if necessary.”
