American Airlines inflicts flight from hell on South Korea-bound passengers who spent nine hours in the air for nothing

An American Airlines flight from Dallas flew for five hours before suddenly turning around.

This maneuver left the passengers in the air for nine hours without ever arriving at their destination.

A passenger picked up his phone to capture the experience and claimed that the flight crew failed to explain the unexpected turnaround.

The woman posted the video on her Instagram account, which she manages with another mother.

They identified themselves online as Jimin and Jihye and tagged the airline in the post. The post was published on September 10 and has been viewed 55,000 times.

One of the passengers took out her phone to record the experience, but she says it was never explained what happened.

“New fear revealed: Your flight to Korea could be five hours long and you’ll return with no explanation,” the caption of the clip reads.

“Just relax,” the woman and others were reportedly told.

‘American Airlines needs a lesson in effective communication.’

As these messages appear, images of the plane’s flight path appear on the screen of the seat in front of her.

It shows how the plane had crossed the entire contiguous United States and spanned much of the Pacific Ocean before abruptly turning back.

They said it’s because the toilets are on the right side.[sic] don’t work,’ reads another caption as the footage continues.

“Pilot asked if anyone had a Phillips screwdriver to help fix the bathroom,” it then reads, remarkably.

A number of question marks appear on the screen, illustrating the absurdity of the situation.

“The only vice I had available to me — red-hot Cheetos,” the woman then writes, as she hears a snippet of what she eats in the dark during the long drive back to the Lone Star State.

“I needed a ramyun and a strong drink.”

The video then shows the plane flying over Dallas, with the pilot saying the sky is “clear.”

“Nine hours later we are back in Dallas,” she concludes. “Lost [sic] for words.’

The woman then tagged both American and Cheetos in her post, before making a follow-up post in which she enjoyed a well-deserved meal.

It is not yet clear whether airline staff have acted on her complaints, but DailyMail.com asked for clarification in a request for comment on Monday.
