Amber Rose’s speech at the Republican Party convention was praised as ‘classy’ by Trump fans… but some conservatives have a VERY different opinion
Model and rapper Amber Rose’s speech at the Republican National Convention on Monday night was called “classy” by some of Donald Trump’s MAGA supporters, while some conservatives had a very different take.
Rose, the ex-girlfriend of Kanye West and ex-wife of Wiz Khalifa, told the crowd at the party convention in Milwaukee that voting for Trump was “the best chance we have to give our babies a better life.”
Online, X user Saras76 said Rose gave a “classy and heartfelt speech,” while Christian Watson, host of the podcast Pensive Politics, praised the Republican National Committee for the invitation.
“The RNC should continue to embrace people like Amber Rose. You can’t preach conservatism to an audience that already agrees with you,” Watson posted on X. ‘You cannot model virtue for a multitude of saints. And most important of all, you cannot judge a man’s humanity unless you are better yourself.’
However, conservative podcaster Matt Walsh found Rose’s booking scandalous.
“Trump just achieved mythic status by defying death and surviving an assassination attempt and the GOP decides the best next move is to sit him down and listen to a porn star talk about diversity. Brilliant move. Thanks guys,” Walsh posted on X.

Conservative podcaster Matt Walsh had a very different take on Rose’s appearance, falsely calling her a “porn star” and claiming that Trump doesn’t need the help.
Walsh further reinforced that sentiment when X users argued that Rose’s appearance at the RNC was intended to help the GOP attract new voters
Rose was a former stripper, not a porn actress, who rose to fame through her relationship with West, who was also in Trump’s orbit. However, West has largely been ostracized from Hollywood due to his anti-Semitic remarks and ties to white supremacists.
She previously said she would move to Canada if Trump were elected in 2016 and was a founder of SlutWalk, which encouraged women to dress like “sluts” to raise awareness of gender discrimination after a police officer insisted that women could protect themselves from sexual assault by covering up.
Walsh argued that Rose was too new to the conservative movement to be a prime-time speaker at the convention.
“The RNC is giving a primetime speech to a pro-abortion feminist and self-proclaimed slut with a face tattoo who only became famous for having sex with rappers,” Walsh continued. “Really embarrassing.”
When another X user pointed out that Rose had been chosen to help Republicans turn out more voters, Walsh suggested that Trump didn’t need the help.
“That’s right. Donald Trump just survived an assassination attempt while running against a senile vegetable whose own party abandoned him, but the only thing that will truly make this election a success is … Amber Rose,” Walsh wrote Tuesday morning. “Awesome! Republican political genius at it again.”
Rose was one of the few speakers Trump saw in person on Monday, when he made a surprise appearance at the convention just after 9 p.m.
With a bandage over his ear, Trump grinned during Rose’s five-minute appearance.
“I realized that Donald Trump and his supporters don’t care if you’re black, white, gay, straight, it’s all love,” Rose said. “And that’s when it hit me: These are my people, this is where I belong.”
Rose’s performance Monday stood out, as the other speakers included politicians, average Americans and a top labor leader.
Republican conventions typically don’t see as many Hollywood stars on stage as their Democratic counterparts.
And even Trump’s past as a reality star hasn’t really helped him.
Perhaps the most notable celebrity appearance on stage in the past 15 years came when director and actor Clint Eastwood pretended that a chair was then-President Barack Obama to endorse Republican candidate Mitt Romney in 2012.
Trump managed to attract a handful of D-listers to the 2016 party convention in Cleveland, where Antonio Sabato Jr. and Scott Baio were given speaking duties.
In 2020, Trump’s convention moved to Washington DC due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a more limited speaker schedule.
In addition to Rose, reality star Savannah Chrisley will also speak at the four-day event.
There were rumors that 50 Cent would also be in attendance. CNN reported Monday that the rapper is “in talks” with convention organizers to perform.
But a spokesperson told DailyMail.com that he is currently having a scheduling problem.
“He can be found somewhere else,” his publicist said.
