Amber Heard returns to the big screen for the first time since the libel case against Johnny Depp… and will debut her new film at a film festival in Italy
Amber Heard returns to the big screen.
The 37-year-old actress, who has faded from the spotlight since she lost the 2022 defamation lawsuit brought by her ex-husband Johnny Depp, 60, will appear in the upcoming thriller In The Fire, which premieres on the 69th. Taormina Film Festival in Italy.
It will be her first time promoting a movie since her trial deadline.
The story takes place in Colombia in 1899.
The synopsis about the festival websitereveals that Amber will play an American psychiatrist who “arrives at a wealthy farm in Colombia after being called to solve the case of a disturbed child.”

The boy’s mother is concerned about accusations from a local priest that her child is possessed by the devil.
“When the doctor arrives, she discovers that the boy’s mother is dead and that the father himself has come to believe in the possible possession of the child.”
As the doctor uses the still-new practice to try and cure the child, it becomes a race against time to save the boy, and perhaps her own life.
Amber travels to Sicily with her co-star Eduardo Noriego, 49, and director Conor Allyn to promote the film.
The festival will take place from June 23 to July 1, 2023.
Amber will also appear in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
She is expected to reprise her role as Mera for the superhero movie due out in December.
Amber lives in Spain, where she moved after the volatile court case.

Amber replied in Spanish, “I love Spain so much.”
