An Amazon spokesperson has dismissed the exterminator theory after telling a woman her cockroach infestation was due to a package from the online retailer.
Niamh Zocco, 32, moved from Ireland to South Florida and is sharing her journey in the United States on her TikTok account.
While her page usually chronicles her life in Fort Lauderdale, the content creator recently took to the video sharing platform to share her house had been taken over by cockroaches.
She showed the extent of the infestation by claiming that a pest control expert claimed the dozens of cockroaches came from an Amazon package.
Now a spokesperson has shut down the theory while speaking to DailyMail.com.

“There is no indication that this has anything to do with an Amazon package,” the spokesperson said.
In the mother clip, she said: ‘I had my entire kitchen replaced on Saturday morning because we opened the wrong Amazon package in the house and had to have every nook and cranny fumigated.’
In the video, which has been viewed more than 740,000 times, Niamh revealed she was forced to call the pest control company after cockroaches took over her home when she opened her package.
The video showed the content creator putting her glassware back in her cupboards.
She captioned it: “Open your packages outside.”
In one follow up videoNiamh revealed that she and her husband have an exterminator who comes to their house once a month anyway, since they live in South Florida and there are “always some bugs” trying to get into their house.
‘Just before one maintenance service was due, we happened to see Tiny [little roaches]” she explained in the video.
“Then within a week I’d get up in the middle of the night to get some water or something, and they’d be walking around fucking on our kitchen counter.”

Niamh said the exterminators told her they would do a ‘Band-Aid’ solution, treating some areas mildly, which they said could solve the problem because she caught them early on.
When that didn’t work, the pest experts told her to remove everything from her home so they could fumigate it.
“That’s exactly what we ended up doing,” she explained to Newsweek.
‘It was a nightmare: we had to take everything out, clean every inch and then put it all back a few days later. The whole ordeal was exhausting.”
She admitted she was shocked to learn that the creepy crawlies could have come from eggs that were in a package delivered to her home.
“The guy who did the service for us said it’s very common to get them from Amazon packages,” she said, jokingly adding that “10 Amazon packages” come in every other day.
The mother admitted that she thought the infection could also have come from travel, and she “doesn’t write it off” as a cause.
“I hope it never happens to anyone because it wasn’t fun,” she concluded the clip.
