He didn't get far before bizarrely flying off the driver's seat and crashing the Amazon van.

The car thief appeared to be panicking as he struggled to regain control of the steering wheel.

The chaos descended when the door at the back of the van flew open and the vehicle crashed into bushes.

After crashing the vehicle less than half a mile away from where it was stolen, the suspect ran from the scene and has yet to be found and arrested.

The embarrassing moment was all captured on dashcam footage from inside the vehicle.

Video from earlier clearly shows the suspect, who is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, approximately 18-23 years old, wearing black clothing and a black mask.

He is seen lurking in the road in front of the van as the vehicle's lights flashed on and off.

The car thief is then seen crossing the road and exploring the area before heading back to the van.

This isn't the first time an Amazon driver has been targeted by thieves.

In November, a group of about six thieves, who looked like young boys, raided a large walk-in truck after the driver left the door wide open.

They frantically packed boxes as the female driver watched from a nearby sidewalk and did nothing.

She seemed fed up with the robbers who snuck up on her while she was delivering other packages at an apartment complex believed to be in Atlanta, Georgia.
