Amanda Seyfried reveals she will NOT be promoting her new movie Seven Veils at TIFF despite being granted an exemption from SAG-AFTRA
Amanda Seyfried revealed that she would not be promoting her upcoming movie, Seven Veils, at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival in a post shared on her Instagram account on Saturday.
The 37-year-old performer was originally set to appear at the star-studded event to give the feature some extra exposure, and she had also received permission from SAG-AFTRA to do so.
However, the actress, who recently attended a star-studded premiere, wrote a post explaining why she chose not to attend the festival.
Seyfried started by writing that she would have loved to promote Seven Veils as originally planned.
She wrote: I am SO PROUD of this movie and it aches my heart not to stand next to the wonderful people who helped make this special movie at @tiff_net’s premiere next week.’

The Veronica Mars actress subsequently wrote that although she was given permission to promote the film, she was not comfortable doing so.
“@sagaftra has given us permission to promote this completely magically independent Canadian film, but it doesn’t feel right to be leading the party in light of the strike,” she wrote.
Seyfried concluded by writing that she would be only too happy to raise awareness of the film after the notable members of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA agreed on their wages.
“Can’t wait to show you all of SEVEN Veils when the time is right (and when we’ve come to a fair agreement for actors and writers,” she wrote).
It was previously announced that the actress wanted to appear in the feature film last February.
The film was directed and written by Atom Egoyan, who previously worked with the performer on the 2009 feature film Chloe.
The director also told it Variety that it was “so exciting to be reunited” with Seyfried after working with her on the erotic drama film, which also starred Julianne Moore and Liam Neeson.
Egoyan added that he had a “great experience” with the actress as they worked on their previous project.

The film revolves around a theater director who deals with repressed trauma while working on an adaptation of Salome.
In addition to starring in the film, the cast of Seven Veils was supplemented by artists such as Rebecca Liddiard, Mark O’Brien and Douglas Smith.
Principal photography for the feature film took place earlier this year, with much of the filming taking place in Toronto.
Seven Veils will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, which kicks off later this month, and will also screen at several other festivals later this year.
