Amana said 63-year-old Simon arrived “armed with a fork” to sample the kids’ baked goods and the pair decided on a winner together.
Speaking on Tuesday’s Heart Breakfast with co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda said, “They asked me at my daughter’s school if I was going to review some pies, and I was like, ‘Hmm, I need to think about it.’
‘So yes, they had a tent, which was set up fantastically, all the children made cakes. They all got kind of different themes. My favorite pie was a cross country run.

‘You’re kidding’: The 52-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge was originally asked to go into the tent and pick a winner for the themed cake creations, but she brought out her co-star as a surprise
“It was a bright green cake and they had made a racetrack out of chocolate drops and I thought there were turtles running on the track, but they weren’t. It was people and it had a finish line, but that was one of my favorites.
“There was one kind of Christmas cake that looked horrible, there were only two people on this team and I felt sorry for them and it looked horrible and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I have to put my fork in it.’ that and eat that” and it was actually a very good sponge.’
She continued, “I was judging them by looks and type of creativity and team effort and then I surprised everyone because my friend Simon Cowell showed up in the tent!”
Jamie replied, “You’re kidding! A mash-up of Bake Off Britain’s Got Talent!’
‘They’ve gone mad, these kids! And he came in armed with a fork and then we pretty much settled the winner between us based on taste,” she added.
Amanda shares two daughters Lexi, 17, and Hollie, 11, with talent manager husband Chris Hughes, whom she met in 2003.
It comes after Amanda revealed that she is making sure her ‘A* student’ daughter Lexi completes her education before starting her modeling career.
In March 2022, Amanda announced that her eldest daughter has signed a contract with the Storm modeling agency as she follows in her mother’s footsteps into show business.

Amanda discussed Lexi’s next steps a year later, telling MailOnline exclusively, “She was hired by Storm. She’s 17, but I think when she’s 18, we’re going to look for her to work in that field. At the moment they are working on her Lookbook.’
When asked about her and Lexi’s recent red carpet appearances, the 52-year-old TV personality admitted, “I’m very aware of where we’re going.
‘We went to the Fashion Awards and that was very exciting. So yes, I want to take her to the right things, the relevant things. She’s interested in the fashion side.’
However, Lexi’s modeling career won’t come before her education, as Amanda said, “Lexi’s an A* student so I don’t want her to mess that up and she’s willing to do anything.”
Last year, Amanda revealed that her daughter Lexi is joining Kate Moss’ modeling agency after seeing pictures of the gorgeous teen online.

The judges on Britain’s Got Talent told MailOnline that Storm, who propelled Cara Delevingne, 29, and Cindy Crawford, 56, to catwalk stardom, went “after” her daughter and that it was Lexi’s decision to sign on the dotted line for interest from rival firms.
She said at the time: “Lexi was approached last year and of course we waited until she was 16 to sign anything. It’s something she actually wants to do, so I’m taking charge from her.
“She’s a very quiet girl, but she knows her own thoughts. She is very smart and wants to continue her studies.
“There is no pressure and we will see what happens. But finishing her education is very much her plan, she will have our support whatever she decides to do.”
