Amanda Holden makes a sly dig at Phillip Schofield over claims he jumped queue to see The Queen

She previously made it clear that she is not a fan of her ex-colleague.

And Amanda Holden has slyly dug into Phillip Schofield after it was alleged that he and co-host Holly Willoughby jumped in line at London’s Westminster Hall last week to film a segment for This Morning as the late Queen lays in state.

The presenter, 51, made her feelings about the situation clear during her Heart Breakfast show as the feud between her and Phillip continues.

Amanda’s co-host Ashley Roberts, 41, can be heard on the program: ‘So David Beckham has struck a seven-figure deal with Qatari World Cup sponsor Doritos. I like Doritos. I’d like a seven-figure deal.

Amanda replied slyly, “Get in line. I mean, he did get in line. Good of him.’

Ashley then referred to the football legend’s recent visit to see the Queen’s visit, where he waited in line next to the crowd after turning down a VIP invitation.

It comes as a petition to have the under-fire television duo fired from their lucrative presenting roles on This Morning and has reached more than 50,000 signatures.

The pair were such a response that TV insiders expressed “serious concerns” about the well-being of the presenters after appearing on This Morning this week in tears and muffled.

Phillip and Holly were eager to make a public apology over ‘queue-gate’, but were talked out of it after seeking legal advice, MailOnline revealed.

A statement was issued by ITV on Saturday and later aired on Tuesday This Morning, which was voiced by Holly, 41, but both stopped using the word ‘sorry’ – a move that has outraged many viewers.

A source told MailOnline: “Every word of the statement was flooded. In the end it is spectacularly counterproductive.

“Initially, Holly and Phillip were willing to apologize if they upset anyone, because they both desperately want to end the affair. But they were strongly advised not to go down that path of saying sorry.’

Amanda first worked with Schofield after stepping into Holly’s shoes when the This Morning star took a year off the show to have her third baby in 2014.

But there have long been reports of trouble between the TV presenters, with Amanda reportedly lobbying ITV executives after Schofield reportedly pushed for Rochelle Humes to take the job.

A former daytime TV executive told The Sun: “Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle, 30, to get the job, despite Amanda being more experienced — and having been told privately that she’d gotten the gig.”

An ITV spokesperson later claimed that Rochelle’s casting was a decision of the producers, telling MailOnline: “The lineups of presenters on This Morning change regularly and the final decisions about these lineups are made by the producers and not by the presenters.

‘Phillip Schofield is a much loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He is a consummate professional and highly regarded by ITV.

“Amanda is also highly regarded as a judge on one of our biggest shows.”
