Amanda Holden and Alan Carr’s €1 Sicilian apartment goes on sale for £127,500 for charity after friends transformed the waxed home into a luxury holiday home

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr’s €1 Sicilian apartment has gone on sale for £127,500.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 52, and the comedian, 46, spent three months transforming two flats in the medieval town of Salemi, which is an hour from Sicily’s capital Palermo.

After buying the two flats for one euro each, the couple documented the renovation process of putting them together on the BBC’s Amanda and Alan: The Italian Job.

Now, the condo is up for sale and the proceeds from the two-bedroom, two-bathroom furnished vacation home will be split between Comic Relief and Children In Need.

The 1,300-square-foot apartment has been completely renovated, after the couple found it abandoned, littered with trash and used by squatters.

Amanda and Alan tackled the property from scratch, engaging in DIY jobs from plastering to plumbing.

The stunning flat is featured on Rightmove, with the description: ‘All three balconies offer stunning views of the landscape, making it the perfect spot to watch the sun go down.

“It also comes with a shared walled patio, perfect for al fresco dining or just enjoying the Mediterranean sunshine.”

In the latest episode, the friends admire their work after tackling a bedroom and bathroom each and the living room and kitchen together.

The actress says: ‘It’s beautiful! Although our tastes are very different, it has a really lovely flow. I feel a little sad that it’s over. I really love it.’

The show has attracted 4.5 million viewers and there are now reports that the BBC is planning a second series next year in a different location.

said a source Mirror: ‘The BBC bosses have been delighted. The warmth and humor of their friendship as they have become attached to DIY, design and the Sicilian way of life has proved to be a huge success.”

MailOnline has contacted the BBC for comment.

Amanda previously spoke about how The Italian Job was born out of her desire to do something good for her close friend Alan.

The presenter shared that she hoped to give the Chatty Man star a project to help him get over his split from husband Paul Drayton earlier this year.

Alan and Paul announced their separation in January of last year after 13 years together and three years of marriage.

The BGT judge explained that the show, which follows a building refurbishment, will see Alan take on a project much like him, as it starts out as nothing and grows into something ‘beautiful’.

He’s been through a lot of personal things. I want to give him a project that will start with something tattered, much like him, and at the end there will be this beautiful building,” he told the publication.
