Amanda Bynes remains on psychiatric hold three weeks after hospitalization

Former child star Amanda Bynes remains in 5150 psychiatric cell three weeks after her shocking hospitalization in Los Angeles on March 19.

The retired SAG Award-nominated actress – who celebrated her 37th birthday last Monday – reportedly hopes “she will be healthy enough to be released within the next week,” but there is “no set release date.”

“She is not being forced to stay in the facility but doesn’t feel quite ready to leave yet,” a source told TMZ on Sunday.

“But if she is, she will enroll in an outpatient mental health treatment program. Amanda has been working with the medical staff to ensure she is supported when she is released, and an outpatient program will keep her on track.”

Amanda’s parents Rick and Lynn Bynes “have not been by her side in the hospital,” but they “still support her in every way possible.”

This came after Bynes’s parents reportedly banned her ex-fiancée Paul Michael from having contact with her following the end of their four-year relationship in January.

“They don’t want her ex-fiance with him and he’s been ordered not to have any contact with her,” an insider told DailyMail.com on March 28.

“He doesn’t seem to have her best interests at heart, and her family has nothing good to say about him.”

The SoCal native famously got engaged to the health care worker on Valentine’s Day 2020, just months after staying in the same austere residential facility.

Amanda was hospitalized after reportedly wandering the streets for four straight days in a manic state, sometimes naked and alone, after her car was towed in Long Beach on March 15.

TikTok user @kaitlynhotfox shared a 10-second video of her walking March 17 on Hollywood Boulevard next to Bynes, who politely uttered “What’s up” to the camera.

It’s been a year since Ventura County Superior Court Judge Roger L. Lund finally agreed end the nine-year legal conservatory of the All That alum overseen by her mother.

Amanda’s conservatory began in 2013 when she was involuntarily committed to a Pasadena mental institution after a public crisis involving a series of bizarre run-ins with the law dating back to 2012.

Also in October, the Fairfax rapper took a course in cosmetology to learn how to become a nail technician.

Amanda would also pursue a bachelor’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising after completing her associate’s degree there in 2019.

‘[I’m] majoring in creative industry studies with a core in beauty marketing and product development,” Bynes shared E! News a year ago.

“I’m traveling to New York in June to work on developing a fragrance that will be ready to launch around the holiday season.”
