The 36-year-old woman was allegedly admitted to a mental institution over the weekend after she was found “wandering the streets naked and alone”.

She was allegedly placed in the 5150 warehouse after she took matters into her own hands to get help, flagged down a passing car and dialed 911, it was claimed.

Bynes was a ward of her parents for nearly nine years until she was released in March 2022, in a move approved by Lynn and Rick.

This weekend’s incident appears to be an outlier, as Bynes was previously thought to be in fine mental shape, taking a cosmetology course while living on her own.

The troubled actress, who canceled a public appearance on Saturday, was seen walking near downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning with no clothes on.

He is said to have waved a car down and told a driver he was “coming off a psychotic episode” before calling 911.

Bynes was taken to a police station where a mental health team placed her in a 5150 psychiatric hold.

A 5150 is a CA Welfare and Institutions Code legal action. Allows a qualified officer or doctor to confine someone against her will for up to 72 hours, which can be extended.

During this time, the person will be fully evaluated for their mental health status.

Bynes is currently hospitalized and will likely receive care for several days. It is not believed that she was injured during the incident.
