Insiders told the publication that Amanda, who rose to fame when she starred on Nickelodeon in the late 90s, was introduced to the new center through her previous one.
Amanda enjoys being around a medical team, therapists, and other patients because she can interact more socially.
In the new treatment center, the star receives 24-hour care and regular therapy.
There are also activities to help Bynes hone skills that she can use when she checks out of the facility.
Sources told TMZ that it was Amanda who decided to change her care.
Last month, the All That alum was placed in a 5150 psychiatric facility, two months after being released from a mental health facility after a three-week stay.
few days later, TMZ reported that her psychiatric confinement had been extended for at least a week as doctors attempted to stabilize her medication and therapy.
At the time, the site reported that Amanda functions well when she takes her medication, but stops as soon as she feels better, leading to a downward spiral.

She initially contacted the LAPD to report that a woman was in distress, sources told the outlet.
The former movie star was released from a mental health facility in April after being placed in a mental institution for three weeks for roaming the streets of LA naked and appearing to be in a manic state.
Sources said: “She was taken to a police station where a professional medical unit was on hand to monitor her and determine if she needed further treatment.”
Eyewitnesses who saw the incident unfold told the publication that Amanda was “calm while interacting” with LAPD officers, but “looked defeated as they interacted with her.”
Bynes was then placed in the back of one of the police cars that had arrived at the scene.
