Cricket power couple Alyssa Healy and Mitchell Starc had an awkward send-off during the Australian women’s second ODI against South Africa on Wednesday.

Starc was in the Channel 7 booth reporting as a guest commentator when Healy was interviewed during a rain delay at North Sydney Oval.

Starc and Healy, who married in 2016, tried to keep things professional before getting involved in a hilarious affair.

“So the length of the opening pair there in (Megan) Schutt and Kimmy Garth, do you think they could have bowled a fraction fuller with the help of the wicket?” Starc asked.

“You’ve got the catchers for Garth there. But you know, it was holding length and she bowled, really disciplined lines and lengths, but maybe a fraction fuller to get into those edges?’

Alyssa Healy couldn’t resist taking a playful swipe at her husband during commentary

Healy smiled to himself and playfully hit back at Starc.

“I think if we’re very critical, as you suggest, that might be possible,” Healy replied as Starc threw up his hands.

‘Kimmy Garth could perhaps have come a fraction fuller, but that is the natural length she likes to reach.

‘And that is also her role within our team: getting the ball moving and keeping it tight.

“I think Schutt’s height was also quite natural.

‘So yes, if we are very critical, maybe. But in saying that, I think they’ve also held up very well.”

A humble Starc said: “Critical of the bowling or critical of the commentary… I don’t know.”

Co-host Emma Freedman wanted to know what the couple was like at home.

“Is this how a conversation on the couch goes?” she asked.

Starc laughed and straightened her out.

“That’s why we don’t talk about cricket,” he replied.

South Africa stunned the Aussies for the second time in as many weeks, winning by 84 runs.

The three-match series will be decided on Saturday at the North Sydney Oval.
