Allen’s quietly brings back two iconic Australian lollies nationwide – sending fans into a spin
Australian confectionery brand Allen’s is to re-release two iconic lollipops in stores across the country.
Fans will be happy to hear that packs of Spearmint Leaves will hit shelves in August after quietly disappearing from stores.
The green leaf-shaped gummy often divided opinion with its spearmint flavor that often tastes like toothpaste.
In a surprising twist, the brand also secretly launched its long-loved Sherbies nationwide for $5 per pack, which are available now.
Aussies will remember chewing through the sweet, tangy orange flavor to reach the sorbet-filled centre.
The Grocery Geek Australia was one of the first to share the news on Instagram, delighting customers.
Dozens of Aussies were happy, but it’s clear the majority prefer Sherbies to spearmint leaves.
“So they’re bringing back spearmint leaves, but they’ve removed Fantales?” wrote one.

The brand also confirmed to FEMAIL that 150g packs of Sherbies are now available in stores nationwide for $5 each
Melanie Chen, Head of Marketing Confectionery at Nestlé Oceania, said the brand is excited to bring back Allen’s Spearmint Leaves later this year.
‘We know mint fans love the sweet, chewy flavor of spearmint leaves, and it’s also a favorite decoration among bakers. Plus, it’s vegan-friendly!’ she said.
‘Allen’s Spearmint Leaves will be available exclusively at Woolworths and independent supermarkets, so be quick.
‘We also have some extra sweet news today: Allen’s Sherbies are now back in their own bag! The first orange chew with its bag of sorbet is ready for chewing lollipop lovers. It is now available from all major retailers in 150 grams for $5.”
Earlier this year in January, fans were stunned after discovering the real taste of Allen’s snake lollipops.
A conversation started on TikTok when comedian Tanya Hennessy shared the “disturbing news” with her 339,000 followers.
While most people come up with obvious answers, the flavor of orange snake is apricot and the flavor of green snake is zesty lemon. Other flavors include strawberry, blackberry and pineapple.
The realization left Tanya and hundreds of others “stunned.”
