Wild street race ends in chaos after driver crashes into eight cars with tires strewn across the street and vehicle bumpers torn

Nearly a dozen cars belonging to housewarming guests were vandalized after a driver of a supposedly stolen car ran into them during a street race.
The collision incident involving a supposedly stolen black Holden Calais sedan on Holland Road in Melbourne’s east occurred around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday.
The occupants of the mutilated sedan fled. A witness described the wreckage as “absolute carnage.”

A 19-year-old Narre Warren man was arrested just before 10am in Blackburn South in eastern Melbourne and is currently being held in hospital under police guard but has yet to be interviewed

The other occupants of the car are fugitives and the police are investigating further.
Local Matt Maca said he was driven home early Sunday morning by a friend and saw damaged cars everywhere.
Mr. Maca told the Announce sun some of the affected vehicles belonged to guests attending a street housewarming party.
“Immediately after the crash, I spoke to some people whose cars had been hit and they said they were having a housewarming party and had taken to the streets just a month ago,” he said.
Tens of thousands of dollars in damage were caused after the car crashed into the parked vehicles
He added: ‘I was told they were having a race on the road easily over 100mph, I mean a car moved 20 to 30 meters from where it was parked into someone’s front yard’, said Mr. Maca.
“There are cars that are missing wheels, and others have their whole backs ripped off, so they’ve pretty much gone crazy over all the cars.”
Another resident said it was like the street had been “picked up, shaken and dumped all over the place.”
“Someone could have walked out and seen their vehicle and had a heart attack, I’m sure I would, if I saw your car in bits and pieces across the road,” they added.
