Watch the moment heavily armed WA officers track down two fugitives allegedly on the run from NSW Police

Two fugitives who allegedly kidnapped and shot a man before leaving him for dead have been arrested in dramatic scenes on the other side of the country.

A woman, 38, and a man, 25, whose alleged crimes took place in NSW, were taken into custody in the remote community of Balladonia in Western Australia last week.

Their Holden Trax was surrounded by heavily armed police five days after the alleged kidnapping 500km west of the South Australian border. 7 News reported.

The pair, along with another woman, are accused of kidnapping a 32-year-old man at gunpoint from a home in Port Macquarie on the NSW north coast.

The trio then allegedly drove the man to Bago Bluff National Park, 25 miles away, where they shot him several times and then left him for dead, police said.

The injured man was discovered “naked and bleeding” by a trail runner.

“It was clear he had been shot a number of times,” NSW Police Inspector Peter O’Reilly told Seven News.

The man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The man is still in hospital and has now been interrogated by the police

Police claim two of the alleged kidnappers traveled to the other side of the country in a 2014 Holden SUV.

After authorities received a tip-off from their NSW counterparts that the pair had crossed the border, Western Australia police formed a team to search for the vehicle.

Police also understood the SUV had mechanical problems.

It was eventually located in undergrowth about 100 yards from Balladonia Roadhouse.

Western Australian police described the pair as ‘dangerous’ and ensured the SUV was surrounded by officers with firearms drawn before the arrests were made.

Classified as a ‘high risk arrest’, police allegedly found a loaded sawed-off shotgun in the vehicle during a search.

The pair were described as ‘dangerous’ and have since been extradited to NSW

The pair, both from Port Macquarie, were this week extradited back to NSW where they will face charges of kidnap and attempted murder.

Both have been denied bail.

Police do not know why they traveled to Western Australia after their alleged crimes.

The third person, a 27-year-old woman, is still on the run

The police assume that the injured man and the suspected trio are known to each other.
