Team-up skills are thematically appropriate movements Marvel Rivalsallowing two or more heroes from the Marvel Universe to team up and kick butt as a group. These unique effects can be extremely powerful and even change the tide of battle if you know what you’re doing.
In this Marvel Rivals guide, we’ll show you how Team-Ups attacks work and what all current in-game Team-Ups do.
How do Team-Ups work in Marvel Rivals
At the launch, there are 15 Team-Up skills in it Marvel Rivals to join the game’s 33 heroes.
Because each Team-Up is unique, they all work a little differently, but the general idea is that pairing certain heroes on the same team can provide spectacular benefits (you can see who your hero can Team-Up with in the middle of your screen while selecting a character).
Some of these benefits are purely passive, such as Hela’s Ragnarok Rebirth ability, which allows her to revive Thor or Loki mid-battle if they’re on her team. Others, like Rocket Raccoon’s Ammo Overload, add an active ability for the primary hero (the person providing the Team-Up) or the secondary heroes (the heroes who benefit most from the Team-Up).
Most Team-Ups are lopsided, meaning a hero may not benefit from having allies in his Team-Up on the field at all. However, the other side can benefit greatly from the presence of their generator ally. For example, Lunar Force does nothing for Cloak & Dagger while Moon Knight is on their team. However, the presence of Cloak & Dagger allows Moon Knight to occasionally become invisible, which is an extremely powerful effect.
Team-ups aren’t required for victory, but they can be extremely powerful and are worth tapping into when you get the chance. It’s a good idea to learn different characters in your preferred role so you can switch to support an ally with a Team-Up.
