Silothe first season is over. The twists and turns of the Silo‘s new sheriff, Juliette, played more than 10 episodes on Apple TV Plus, but they didn’t quite come to an end. In fact, Friday’s finale actually opened the door to a whole lot more questions than it answered.
Fortunately there is more Silo to come, and it should give us a little better idea about the mysteries of the outside world, along with revealing what happens to anyone still inside. While we don’t know the new season’s release date yet, here’s everything we do know Silo season 2:
Will Silo get a season 2?
Yes there is. Silo‘s second season was announced a few weeks before the final episode of the first season, which seems like a good sign for the show’s popularity. Apple hasn’t announced any plans beyond Season 2, but for now, at least we’re getting one outing with Juliette.
When is Silo season 2 release date?
This is not entirely clear at the moment. On the one hand, shooting for the season would start soon, which probably means scripts for the season are finished or close to being finished, so the writers’ strike won’t have a huge effect. On the other hand, with the Screen Actors Guild on the brink of a strike, set to begin July 1, delays are still possible. Without any work interruption, it seems likely Silos next season was supposed to premiere in 2024, but if there are delays, there’s really no telling when it might be postponed.
Will Rebecca Ferguson return for Silo season 2?
We don’t know any details about the new season yet, which actually seems like a surefire sign that the star of the series will be back for Season 2. After all, if Ferguson were to depart from the series, which is about to start filming Season 2, then we had probably already heard of it.
What is Silo season 2 about?
[Ed. note: This section contains spoilers for Silo season 1.]
This isn’t completely clear yet, but the season finale is definitely giving us some guesswork. We know that Juliette is leaving the Silo, and despite images suggesting that the outside world may be more livable than the residents of the Silo have led to believe, things are much worse than they seem. Fortunately, she’s still alive, thanks to the heat tape she received, but now she’s trapped in a barren wasteland where she witnesses dozens of other silos.
With that bleak ending in mind, it looks like there are a number of places the story could go for Season 2. We could follow Juliette through the wasteland, and maybe even another silo, or we could go back to the original Silo to stay with the characters we already know there. It seems likely that the series’ second season will do a bit of both.
