All the big new games coming out in May

Arkane Studios redfall already delayed to 2022, was given a tough call when Microsoft gave it a May 2 launch date to appease Xbox Game Pass fans wondering when they’d get some first-party first-day hits. Nintendo chose May 12 for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom all the way back in September, and Xbox took its chance in January when it chose the 10 days in May for it Until K dominates the game conversation.

But it’s not like redfall is the only other game to launch in May. It’s just, relatively speaking, the only one that remotely meets Zelda-sized expectations for its platform. There are plenty of other intriguing releases, non-early access releases, or previous generation platform launches. But it feels like everyone is avoiding Nintendo this month. Well, everyone except redfall.

Here’s what’s to come, among the major video game launches, for May 2023.

The open-world co-op shooter takes players to an unwitting New England beach town – literally, the sun is permanently blacked out – to rid it of the vampire horde that has taken control.

The only reason this game isn’t first on this list is because we’re doing it in chronological order.
