All the big games, trailers, and announcements from today’s Nintendo Direct

It’s hard to believe, but: Nintendo has games other than The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for 2023. The publisher revealed its upcoming lineup of Switch titles in 40 minutes NintendoDirect on Wednesday.

Nintendo has not disclosed any details on this Hollow Knight: Silksong, Metroid Prime 4or post-release content Tears of the Kingdom. Still, it was a packed showcase, from the new Mario platformer to the remake of a classic Mario RPG. Here are all the big reveals and announcements from Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC

Pokémon Scarlet And purplethe DLC, The hidden treasure of Area Zerois divided into two parts. The first part, The teal mask, debuting in Fall 2023, will feature five new Pokémon (just shy of a full party). The second part, The Indigo Diskwill be released in the winter of 2023. It takes place in a terrarium in the middle of the ocean.

Sonic superstars

Sonic superstars, first announced at Summer Game Fest, is a 2D Sonic game with modern 3D graphics. You can play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Amy. It will be out in the fall of 2023.

Palia

Palia is a free-to-play farming sim with fighting and cooking elements. It’s holiday 2023.

Persona 5 Tactics

Persona 5 Tactics is essentially XCOM: Persona 5 Edition. It’s coming to Switch on November 17. It’s also coming to Game Pass.

MythForce

MythForce is a first-person collaborative roguelike inspired by ‘Saturday morning cartoons’. It’s largely slated for a 2023 release on the Nintendo Switch.

Detective Pikachu returns

Tim and a talking Pikachu star Detective Pikachu returnsthe sequel to the 2016 Nintendo 3DS game (which in turn inspired a 2019 movie starring Ryan Reynolds). Detective Pikachu returns comes out on October 6 for Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario RPG

The first Super Mario RPG, from 1996 Super Mario RPG, gets the full remake treatment. It’s out on November 17 for Nintendo Switch.

Batman Arkham trilogy

The revered Batman Arkham Trilogy – which consists of Arkham town, Arkham AsylumAnd Arkham Knight – coming to Switch in Fall 2023.

Gloomhaven

The tactical game Dark Fantasy Gloomhaven coming to Switch on September 18. Console versions were announced last year.

Silent hope

Silent hope – a role-playing game with seven protagonists who don’t speak – comes out on October 3. Nintendo Switch.

Manic mechanics

The cooperative board game Manic mechanics – which comes across as sort of Overcooked but with cars – coming out July 13th for Nintendo Switch.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope DLC

The mostly slept through Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope – a tactics game featuring Mario characters alongside Ubisoft’s terminally grating rabbits – getting a second DLC… very soon! The extension, called The last spark chaser, is out today. There’s also a free demo for the base game, which you should check out all the way through.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince allows you to recruit and train different monsters that definitely won’t fit in your pocket or a small ball or anything like that. It’s out on December 1 for Nintendo Switch.

Pikmin 4 and classic Pikmin re-releases

Olimar, who you may recognize as the most annoying Smash Bros. character to fight returns Picmin 4, but not as a protagonist. In Picmin 4, he is stuck and you have to rescue him. First announced in 2015, Picmin 4 will finally be released on July 21. It’s the first game in the series that lets you customize your own character – and go out at night. Picmin 4 gets a demo on June 28.

Nintendo will also release HD versions of pikmin And Picmin 2 (as it did with Picmin 3 in 2020) today.

Metal Gear Solid for Switch

Batman isn’t the only performatively gruff wetwork specialist whose starring trilogy is coming to Switch. The first three Metal Gear Solid games come as a collection, with the classic NES Metal gear called games Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 1.on October 24.

Vampire survivors

Vampire survivorsthe top-down action game that has consumed countless collective hours is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 17th. It features four-player local co-op.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC

mario kart 8, the racing game that is now older than most third graders, is getting more subjects. The fifth booster pack includes a new track called Squeaky Clean Sprint, and puts Nintendo on track to achieve its stated goal for the racer: that mario kart 8 would receive 48 remastered courses by the end of 2023. Wiggler, Petey Piranha and Kamek also join the roster. It is from an unspecified date Summer 2023.

Ocean of stars The second ocean R

A remake of the second Star ocean game is out on November 2nd for Switch and will feature a mix of both 2D and 3D graphics – and characters who scream all their attacks every time they perform those attacks.

WarioWare: Move It!

Forget mini games. WarioWare is all about microphonegames. The next game in the series, WarioWare: Move It!lands on Switch on November 3. It supports four players locally.

Super Mario Bros. Miracle

Did someone say “Miracle?!” Fresh from storming the box office, Mario returns with a new platformer. Although the 2D platform game is technically titled Super Marios Bros. Miraclebased on the visuals alone (from missiles appearing out of nowhere to crooked warp pipes to… Mario as an elephant?), this hallucination might as well be called Super Mario Fever dream. It’s out on October 20.

Zelda: TOTK amiibo

No, Nintendo has not announced any expansions for Tears of the Kingdom. But hey, at least the new amiibo for Ganondorf and Zelda are cool!
