Many major restaurants are offering great deals in honor of National Taco Day.

Participants include Australian food chain Guzman y Gomez joining in on the fun, Taco Bell and several other restaurant franchises based in the US.

Taco Bell is pulling out all the stops for its annual food day by bringing back the Taco Lover’s Pass for $10 October 3-4.

California Tortilla is also celebrating by giving their customers a free taco coupon with any purchase on October 4, even if it’s just a drink.

National Taco Day was first created as part of a 2009 ad campaign by restaurant chain Del Taco.

It’s similar to Taco Tuesday — a festive taco-eating day that was part of a legal battle between Taco Bell and Taco John’s in July.

The celebration is also called Mexico, Día del Taco, which translates to ‘Day of the Taco’ and is celebrated in Mexico on March 31.
