All-Pro NFL receiver ruled OUT for Week 4 matchup after suffering injury in practice
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has been ruled out of their Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns after suffering an injury on the practice field.
League sources have said this ESPN that Adams pulled up lame in the final minutes of the Raiders practice Thursday and grabbed his hamstring.
The team didn’t try to make any excuses or pretend that Adams could play on Sunday, immediately ruling the receiver out on Friday.
“Collectively, no one has to be Davante Adams,” Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said Friday. ‘I don’t need another Davante. There’s only one, right? I just need the best version of Jakobi Meyers.
‘We’ll see what happens on Sunday, but we really feel it [positive] I’m giving these guys the last 12 hours and now today, tomorrow, to prepare for the game.”

The wide receiver suffered a hamstring injury during the Raiders practice on Thursday
Before Adams’ hamstring injury, the Raiders were already in the midst of a tumultuous week that began with a starting quarterback change following a loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3.
In addition, Las Vegas also lost Pro Bowl defenseman Maxx Crosby to a right ankle sprain, which he suffered in Week 2 against Baltimore and tried to play last week.
After Pierce said the Raiders made some “business decisions” before Adams and Crosby’s injuries, fans speculated that the receiver would be traded from Sin City.
“There were certainly some individuals who made business decisions, and we will make business decisions in the future,” Pierce said.
However, sources say the Raiders have turned down several teams’ inquiries about Adams. The sources added that Las Vegas viewed an Adams trade as a nonstarter and rejected at least two teams before an offer could be made.
Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown through three games as the Raiders are 1-2. He last played a game in 2021 when he played for the Green Bay Packers.
