A few new exotics were introduced in Revenant, Lot 2‘S. From act 1 there are at least three exotic armors and two weapons. And while an exotic surprise can always pop up, we’re sure an exotic mission will be available at some point during Revenant – probably in act 3, like in Echoes.
In this Lot 2: Revenant guide, this episode we will walk you through each of the new Exotics and how to obtain them. We will update this guide throughout the episode as and when new Exotics are released.
Alethonym Stasis breaks grenade launcher
Alethonym is a rare type of Exotic and is only the second grenade launcher ever with primary ammunition. It also deals Stasis damage, meaning it lives in the top slot, while the other primary grenade launcher, Fighting Lion, lives in the energy slot.
The main exotic benefit of Alethonym is Harvest Spikewhich causes kills with the weapon to generate Vestiges. More powerful enemies create more Vestiges. By absorbing a Remnant you can activate its secondary benefit, rudimentary alchemy. After collecting enough Vestiges to charge 50% of the Vestigial Alchemy bar, you can special reload to ensure that the next shot will create a special ammo brick for you and your allies. At 100% energy you can create a heavy stone instead.
Alethonym is the Exotic season pass and is immediately available to those who own Revenant. For free-to-play players, you’ll need to level up the Season Pass to rank 40. Later in the episode, a Catalyst becomes available for Alethonym.
The exact specifications for the return of Icebreaker – the beloved exotic sniper rifle from the original Destiny – are not yet known, as the Vesper’s Host dungeon what it comes from won’t be available until October 11th. But based on a recent developer stream, we know something about how the weapon works.
When you get kills with weapons other than Icebreaker, you regenerate Icebreaker ammo, up to a maximum of 10 shots. Bungie has also teased that the new version of Icebreaker will have some sort of interaction with Stasis.
Like all Dungeon Exotics, Icebreaker is a random drop from the final boss in Vesper’s Host.
