All Bardarvik Sea Giants Rune Puzzle Solutions in Hellblade 2

Finding the name of the sea giant in Hellblade 2 requires you to solve another perspective-based rune puzzle. You reach this part of Senua’s journey in Chapter 5, “Bardarvik” (“Bárðarvík”) after finding the Hidden People. On the way to Bardarvik you will have to fight a draugar, and then you will have to complete two runic puzzles before you can find the real name of Sjavarrisi, the sea giant.

To solve both puzzles, you’ll need to play with perspective to align shapes in the landscape and recreate runes, just as you did in Freyslaug.

Where to find the first Bardarvik puzzle runes in Hellblade 2

After your encounter with the draugar, Astridr runs ahead to the village and you must solve a three-part runic puzzle. To start, you’ll walk past a mostly collapsed house and a wooden watchtower, then drop down a small ledge – we’ll use those as landmarks.

First rune location

Before you do anything else, turn away from the gate. There is a sort of ramp made of the iridescent rocks leading to a small platform.

At the top of the ramp, look to the left and find the first rune.

Second rune location

There is a drop of water to the left of the rune gate. Concentrate on it, turn over some stones, and then come back to the platform you were just standing on. Go left of the driveway (it no longer exists) and you will find a path that leads back to the houses you passed earlier.

When you get to the first house, focus on the water drop there to move more bricks. This opens a path to the right. Follow it to another house.

When you reach this house, turn left. You will find the second rune aligned with the eaves.

Third rune location

Go back the way you came and use the water drop you just focused on to switch the rocks back. As you head back to the Rune Gate, keep right.

Keep looking to the right to see the third rune in the lichen.

Where to find the second Bardarvik puzzle runes in Hellblade 2

When you go through the gate, follow the edge of the cliff for a while. Look to your right for a hidden stone face. Keep following the path until you have a short conversation with Astridr. You part ways again and Senua’s path takes her to a beach full of shipwrecks.

There you will find the next puzzle as you approach the cave along the beach. The runes you are looking for are all formed by the seaweed covered mast parts. However, this is by far the most widespread puzzle, so you’ll have to do some work to discover them.

First rune location

From the Rune Gate, turn right and head to the waterfront. There is a drop of water there that you can focus on.

Do that and then run back to the gate. On your right there is a new path behind the shipwreck.

Once behind the ship, keep right and focus on the water drop again. That will restore a ledge you need to climb. Climb both ledges and follow the path to the end. Focus on the water drop you find there.

Go back a bit and there will be a new path on your left. Follow this to the end and all the way to the right. You’ll find the first rune if you look to the left: it’s the rear F-shaped rune.

Second rune location

Back on the beach, go past the rune gate and use the water drop along the shore to switch the rocks again. Climb back onto the ledge that brought you to shore and turn left towards the water.

Once you’re out of the path, look to your left and focus on the water drop again.

A little further along the path, look to the left. You’ll need to align the rock, a mast, and the bow of a shipwreck to find the second rune: the psi-shaped one (ψ or, more thematically appropriate, a curved one).

Third rune location

From the second rune, continue to the left and descend back to the beach. Go right and find a ledge you can climb onto. When you hit a block, turn left and focus on the water drop near the shoreline to open the path.

Continue until you are out of the path again. This time the water droplet you need is on the right side. If you come to a dead end, use the water drop on your left.

Continue following the path until you reach a hut on the edge of the cliff. Go inside and look through the window (?) on your left to find the final, F-shaped rune.
