Instead of traveling to Tuesday night’s game against the New York Islanders in the comfort of a private team coach, the Vegas Golden Knights opted for the Long Island Rail Road.

On one of the New York City train routes that transports passengers between Manhattan and Long Island, the Golden Knights jumped aboard with the audience before taking to the ice.

Photos show the Vegas roster boarding the train at the Moynihan Train Hall in Midtown Manhattan, the new section of Penn Station, heading towards Elmont and the UBS Arena.

Whether the Golden Knights had to transfer at the station in Jamaica is unknown for Queens, like many who travel to and from Long Island to complete their journey to Manhattan.

The LIRR has a station called Elmont-UBS Arena, where trains drop off passengers within a five-minute walk of the venue.

The unconventional route to get to the game might have been fortunate, as Vegas defeated the Islanders 3-2.

The Golden Knights also proved to be without a train delay, scoring first and three of the first four goals of the game.

Guards surrounded the Golden Knights as they walked from the concourse to the train.

It is unclear how the Golden Knights traveled back to the team hotel.

Vegas apparently remains in Manhattan as its next game is Friday against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
