The short and sweet trip will soon come to an end, because she will be back on our screens at the end of September with presenter The Great British Bake Off.

Alison recently admitted she’s “finally ready to settle down” after years of “getting cold feet” in previous relationships.

The This Morning star, who is currently single, revealed she has ‘always been afraid’ of commitment but is now ready to tie the knot when Mr Right comes calling.

Alison was previously engaged to taxi driver Noureddine Boufaied, the father of her son Aiden, 18, but claimed she was ‘not ready to get married at the time’.

Alison dated landscaper Ben Hawkins for two years before they split earlier this year.

Speaking to Gyles Brandreth on an episode of his podcast Rosebud – which starts on Friday – the TV personality explained that she “loves her own company” and believes that is why she struggles in relationships.

Alison said: ‘I think that’s why I struggle in relationships, because I don’t want to have someone around me all the time. I absolutely love being by myself. I’m okay with it. I’ve never felt lonely.

‘I think I get cold feet as soon as I hear the word marriage. I guess I’m just one of those people.

‘I always think – not that there’s anything better – but I always get a little nervous knowing that that’s it.

“I just feel like I’m tied down and I don’t like it, when really I’m getting to that age where I’m like, ‘Alison, let go – it’s okay to settle down.’

Elsewhere in the chat, Alison also revealed that people wrongly thought she had been married before.

For years it was believed that the presenter was once married to taxi driver Noureddine, the father of her son Aiden.

She explained that Noureddine was a “nice guy” and that they got engaged at the age of 30 – the word “marriage” scared her at the time.

She agreed that she had a fear of commitment until now, saying: ‘A lot of people think I’ve been married – I’ve never been married.

“If you look online, it looks like Alison was married to Aiden’s dad, but I wasn’t. He got me engaged, but we never really got married.

‘He’s a nice guy, he’s actually from Tunisia. So I went to Tunisia to do some repetition. I was an entertainer in Tunisia. I never met anyone when I was in Tunisia. I came home and met a Tunisian man, which was bizarre.”

“Aiden’s dad was just a nice guy. He had the most beautiful smile and I fell in love with that, and Aiden has that smile too.

“I just don’t feel like we were ready to get married at that point.” It was the perfect time to get married.”

She hasn’t revealed why she split from Aiden’s father, but since then Alison was reportedly engaged to single dad and security guard Jamie Savage after meeting him online, and more recently dated landscaper Ben Hawkins for about two years after they had hired him to work on the garden. her garden in 2021.
