Alison Hammond has admitted she’s “finally ready to settle down” after years of “getting cold feet” in past relationships.
The This Morning star, 48, who is currently single, revealed she has ‘always been afraid’ of commitment but is now ready to tie the knot when Mr Right comes along.
She was previously engaged to taxi driver Noureddine Boufaied, the father of her son Aiden, 18, but claimed she was ‘not ready to get married at that point’.
Alison dated landscaper Ben Hawkins for two years before they broke up earlier this year.
Speaking to Gyles Brandreth on an episode of his podcast Rosebud — which begins Friday — the TV personality explained that she “loves her own company” and believes that’s why she struggles in relationships.

Alison said, “I think that’s why I struggle in relationships because I don’t want to have someone around me all the time. I absolutely love being by myself. I’m okay with it. I never felt lonely.
“I think my feet get cold as soon as I hear the word marriage. I think I am just one of those people.
“I always think — not that there’s anything better — but I always get a little nervous when I know that’s it.
“I just feel like I’m tied down and I don’t like it, when I’m really getting to that age where I’m like, ‘Alison, let go – it’s okay to settle down.’
Elsewhere in the chat, Alison also revealed that people mistakenly believed she was married before.
For years it was believed that the presenter was once married to taxi driver Noureddine, the father of her son Aiden.
She explained that while Noureddine was a “nice guy” and they got engaged at age 30, the word “marriage” scared her at the time.
She agreed that she had a fear of commitment until now, saying, “A lot of people think I’ve been married — I’ve never been married.

“Looking online, it seems like Alison was married to Aiden’s dad, but I wasn’t. He got engaged to me, but we never really got married.
‘He’s a nice guy, he’s actually from Tunisia. So I went to Tunisia to do some repetition. I was an entertainer in Tunisia. I never met anyone when I was in Tunisia. I came home and met a Tunisian man, which was bizarre.’
“Aiden’s dad was just a nice guy. He had the most beautiful smile and I fell in love with it, and Aiden has that smile too.
“I just don’t feel like we were ready to get married at that point. It was the perfect time to get married.’
She hasn’t revealed why she split from Aiden’s dad, but since then Alison was reportedly engaged to single dad and security guard Jamie Savage after meeting him online, and more recently dated landscaper Ben Hawkins for about two years after she hired him to work on the garden. her garden in 2021.
Alison’s love life has been the subject of much speculation, even from her This Morning team and co-host Dermot O’Leary, who congratulated her on their engagement to Hawkins.
She was quick to deny him that they were engaged and was rather coy about discussing her romances.
Her relationship with Ben was kept very private, but his father Colin said the pair had proposed to each other, which led to the subject being brought up on This Morning.
Her co-star Dermot O’Leary opened the show with the sound of wedding bells exclaiming, “I hear congratulations are in order, someone’s getting married.”

Oh dear! Her relationship with ex-boyfriend Ben was kept very private, but his father Colin said the pair had proposed to each other – which led to the subject being brought up on This Morning.
Alison laughed, “Cut the music out! I’m not engaged, I’m so sorry I’m not engaged!
“I told you, if I ever got engaged or married, I’d be the first to tell you! I would put everything on Instagram and TikTok!’
She continued, “Sorry, it’s fake news! I’m not getting married. One day it might happen, but sorry girls, but it’s fake news.’
“You’d be the first to know!”
“I was looking forward to walking down the aisle with you!” joked Dermot.
