ALISON BOSHOFF: Hollywood superstar Scarlett Johansson reveals she is happy to be eaten if it means she can join the Jurassic Park gang

Scarlett Johansson is preparing for a glorious summer in Elstree, Hertfordshire, where she will film the latest in the hit Jurassic Park film series.

Johansson, 39, is the (human) star of Jurassic World 4, which will have a completely different storyline than the trilogy starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and a host of velociraptors.

She confirmed this week that the shoot will go ahead, saying: ‘I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any way I can for over a decade. I think, “I’m going to die in the first five minutes! I could get eaten by anything!”‘

Her enthusiasm stands in stark contrast to Jennifer Lawrence, who was first offered the role but turned it down out of hand, perhaps because she didn’t like the idea of joining a franchise so late in the filmmaking process.

Some filming has already been done in Thailand and more location work will take place in Malta, but the bulk of the filming will take place in studios in the UK from early next month.

The film will be directed by rising British filmmaker Gareth Edwards, whose previous roles include Star Wars spin-off Rogue One and sci-fi thriller The Creator.

Rihanna’s boyfriend A$AP Rocky made quite the impression this week at his first fashion show in Paris.

In the hallway was a fondant-covered cake shaped like a block of cocaine, and another cake in the shape of a revolver, with a small sign that read, “A gun is easier to buy than a cake.”

The clothes were apparently more forgettable.

Who wouldn’t want to know the inside story of the stranger-than-fiction romance between millionaire heiress Chloe Green and “hot criminal” Jeremy Meeks – who rose to fame thanks to a flattering police mugshot?

Meeks, 40, has written a book called Model Citizen, which will explore his troubled upbringing and subsequent media success. The book will be released in September.

He grew up in Stockton, California (his mother was a heroin addict, his father a convict), joined the notorious Crips street gang — mortal enemies of the Bloods — and was arrested during a crackdown on gun crime and drug trafficking.

But Meeks’ photo attracted worldwide attention and when he was released, he started a new life as a male model.

He met Chloe — daughter of former High Street king Sir Philip Green — in 2017, and baby Jayden Meeks-Green was born in May 2018. The couple, pictured, were engaged and Chloe’s mother Lady Tina was said to be very fond of her daughter’s partner. However, the romance ended around the time of Jayden’s first birthday.

I understand there was some concern about the tome, which Mrs Green and her family were completely unaware of until this week.

A source close to the Green family said: ‘It all appears to be fine, and there will be no pictures of Chloe or Jayden.’

Chloe now lives in Monaco. In September 2022, she married her yacht broker boyfriend Manuele Thiela in a low-key ceremony at the Mairie in Monte Carlo.

Sir Philip’s retail group Arcadia collapsed in November 2020, owing creditors £750 million. Topshop’s parent company, Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Miss Selfridge, had suffered years of poor trading and high costs.

People are pointing the finger at former BBC presenter Huw Edwards as the inspiration for scandal-plagued newsman Douglas Bellowes, the anti-hero of ITV comedy Douglas Is Cancelled which started last night.

But lead actor Hugh Bonneville says they’re wrong. “I’m obviously somehow the love child of the devil, of Piers Morgan,” he says, adding of the character: “He’s got a Filofax and thinks he’s in touch with you.” Ouch.

Jamie Laing is a BBC roving reporter at Glastonbury this year. And he has a dream. He will appear on the TV quiz show The Chase. Laing has already won top prizes for Celebrity Pointless, Celebrity Tipping Point and Celebrity Catchphrase.

“I desperately want to appear on the celebrity version of the quiz and I don’t understand why that hasn’t happened,” he said. ‘I love TV game shows and The Chase with Bradley Walsh is one of my absolute favorites. So it would be great to get a call to participate.”

Is it possible that he is too smart?

Dr. Ranj Singh got a job in a hospital after he asked the interview committee, ‘Is the canteen good?’

Singh, who works as a pediatrician in addition to his media career, said: ‘I remember the interview. You know, at the end they always ask, “Do you have any questions?” So I said, “Is the food in the cafeteria good?” And they all laughed, and I swear that’s what got me the job. I think it gave them a sense of my humanity. And I was really hungry.’

What’s more decadent than a velvet swimsuit, adorned with embroidery and jewels?

British model Cara Delevingne wore a ‘reinterpretation’ of a black 1924 swimsuit designed by iconic designer Jeanne Lanvin in 1924 at a post-Vogue World party on Sunday night. She is pictured here (far right) pouting with model Gigi Hadid at the event.

The original swimsuit is now in a museum. It was used in a theatre performance at the time.

Modern couturiers at Lanvin have recreated it almost stitch by stitch. Twelve craftsmen worked on it for 500 hours.

A bespoke version will be available worldwide from Lanvin ‘by special order’, meaning if you have to ask for the price, you won’t be able to afford it.

We can all identify with Joey King, who plays Nicole Kidman’s daughter in the new Netflix film A Family Affair.

King has this to say about the impossibly physically perfect 57-year-old A-list star: “She’s like an angel who’s not even the same species as me.” The film, which also stars Zac Efron, is available to stream today.

Netflix has already bought the rights to Richard Osman’s next detective series: We Solve Murders, about a father and daughter-in-law who fight crime. The first of those books won’t be published until September 12.

Osman, the Pointless boffin turned publishing phenomenon, writes a chapter a day and his “cozy crime” novels have sold in numbers that “approach Potter.” He is now in the middle of a £10 million four-book deal.

The Thursday Murder Club – his first book – is now being adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg’s production company Amblin Entertainment. The cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.

He continues to write the Thursday Murder Club series, along with the new one, which focuses on Steve Wheeler and his daughter-in-law Amy.
