Alina Habba makes her decision on whether she wants to be Trump’s press secretary in surprise announcement

Alina Habba has ruled herself out as announcing Donald Trump, despite speculation that she was the front-runner.

The fire attorney was thought to be a leading contender for one of the most high-profile jobs in administration.

But on Thursday morning she announced she was no longer considering her name.

“While I am flattered by the support and speculation, the role of press secretary is not one I am considering,” Habba wrote on X. “While I enjoy shouting from a podium, I will be better served in other capacities.”

The decision comes as Trump continues to quickly finalize appointments and nominations for his Cabinet and West Wing staff, just over a week after winning the 2024 presidential election.

Alina Habba says she isn’t considering becoming Donald Trump’s press secretary

Known as an attack dog for Trump, Habba is tested when it comes to confronting combative members of the press.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s campaign spokeswoman, is considered a top contender for press secretary — and there are a few other names floating around Washington.

Initially brought into Trump’s inner circle as his lawyer in a series of high-profile lawsuits, Habba joined the campaign this summer as a senior adviser.

While she remains close to the transition team, a source close to Habba tells DailyMail.com that it remains unclear what role, if any, she will play in the next administration.

“This administration (sic) is going to be epic!” Habba wrote on X when she decided not to become the next press secretary. “So proud of the Trump team, the latest appointments and 47!”
