In a new interview with ELLE UK, actress Taylor Russell praised the 35-year-old Oscar winner, saying she was “so impressed” with Vikander’s physical work for their upcoming film Hope, especially since Vikander “literally just had (her) second child.”
Vikander went on to say that she had acted out childbirth on screen four times before experiencing it in real life. She added, “Your job is to act like an actress, but every time I had to give birth, I said to every woman on set, ‘I’m sorry.’ I felt like an imposter.”
The star kept further details about the couple’s second child under wraps. They quietly welcomed their first child, a son, in 2021 after marrying in 2017.
The beauty has been busy with her new film Firebrand, which revolves around King Henry VIII’s sixth wife, Katherine Parr. Jude Law will play the role of a villainous king.

On finding a balance between her career and personal life, Alicia adds: ‘I’m currently preparing for two jobs and I’m at a point where I’m finding a balance between work and family.
“I’m narrowing it down to two things now: the people I really want to work with and the projects that I think are going to be a creative, joyful time. I’m privileged to have the choice of whether I work on these big things.
‘I always get the blues when I finish a job. Especially if it’s one of those good jobs, which I’m looking for as I get older.
‘I had it on Firebrand. It was a really heavy subject, but we had a great time. So it’s a shame that it’s over, but it’s also like I’ve done a sprint. I’m tired and by the end of the job I’ve already gone and looked at something else.’
“You have to let go. You can’t control your own work, which is a very strange feeling. But then you realize that that’s what it’s like to be an actor. That can be very difficult sometimes. Of course, it helps when you work with people and directors you trust.”
Alicia and her husband Michael first started dating in late 2014, after meeting on the set of their film The Light Between Oceans.
Three years later, the couple married in October 2017 in Ibiza, Spain, in a romantic ceremony.
Alicia told the publication about her experience with childbirth: “All women have such different experiences, and for me it was definitely harder to go through it a second time.”
She continued: “But I think the training made it easier. Going through those nine months is like a marathon, so it helps if you’re strong in it. “It’s so physically demanding and I have so much admiration for every woman who’s done it”; (pictured May 2022)
The Swedish actress announced in September 2021 that she had quietly given birth to a son with Michael earlier that year.
Last year, Alicia spoke openly about the pain she felt after suffering an “extreme” miscarriage just before she became pregnant with her first child.
She spoke about the “painful” struggle she faced on her road to motherhood and admitted to The Times that it “took time” for the couple to have their first child together.
“We have a child now, but it took a while,” she said, before revealing that she had suffered a “painful, extreme” miscarriage before becoming pregnant with her son.
She also compared her experiences to her 2016 film The Light Between Oceans, in which she and Michael played a childless couple who suffered two miscarriages and ultimately adopted a baby girl lost at sea.
Alicia added: ‘[The miscarriage] was so extreme, painful to go through and of course it reminded me of making that film [The Light Between Oceans]. That film has a different meaning now.’
The Danish Girl star added: ‘Sometimes you go through difficult things in life and when you have an office job you can get away from it.
She has always avoided talking about her and Michael’s child in public, but in a 2022 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Alicia spoke candidly about motherhood, saying she always puts her “little family” first.

She said, “In my small family, with my husband and my child, we always travel together. That’s the rule. We do chores so that one of us can always be with the baby.”
During that same interview, the Tomb Raider star also revealed that she struggles with her fertility, telling the publication that she’s been “struggling with it for a while.”
She said: ‘I’ve been trying to get pregnant for a while. So I’ve had a hard time during lockdown. I’ve struggled for a while. For a while I thought I couldn’t get pregnant.’
She said she decided to talk about her problems to help other women who have had similar experiences.
