Storm Darragh cast a stormy shadow over the 27th British Independent Film Awards as guests left Camden Roundhouse on Sunday evening.

After a breathtaking red carpet display, Alicia Vikander and husband Michael Fassbender were confronted by gale force winds as they left the North London venue and headed to a waiting car.

Alicia, 36, struggled to keep her flowing green evening gown and risqué thigh-high slit under control as she emerged next to Michael, who looked suitably dapper in a two-piece suit.

Earlier that evening, the couple, who welcomed their second child earlier this year, looked beyond in love as they enjoyed a date night together.

They first started dating in late 2014, after meeting on the set of their film The Light Between Oceans.

The couple tied the knot three years later in a romantic ceremony in Ibiza, Spain in October 2017.

In July, Alicia revealed that she and Michael had quietly welcomed a second child together.

In an interview for ELLE UK, actress Taylor Russell praised the 35-year-old Oscar winner, saying she was “so impressed” with Alicia’s physical work in their upcoming film Hope, especially since Alicia had “literally just had (her) second baby.” .’

The Swedish star replied: “All women have such different experiences, and going through it a second time was definitely harder for me.”

She continued, “But I think training made it easier. Going through those nine months is like a marathon, so it helps if you start strong.

“It’s so physically demanding, and I have so much admiration for every woman who has done it.”

Alicia and Michael led a star-studded lineup after Sunday’s annual ceremony, a celebration of the very best in British independent filmmaking.

Oscar winner Olivia Colman was also seen outside the venue with actress and singer Jessie Buckley as the event came to a close.

This year’s event presented the awards for Best British Independent Film, Best International Independent Film, Best British Short Film, Best Documentary and The Raindance Maverick Award.
