Alicia Silverstone reprises her role as Clueless in a teaser for Rakuten’s upcoming Super Bowl LVII ad
Alice Silverstone has revived her Clueless character, Cher, for a new announcement.
The 46-year-old actress returned to the role of the fashion-loving California girl to film a Rakuten commercial that will air during the upcoming Super Bowl in 2023.
A sneak peek of the ad shows the actress, who recently took part in a photo shoot for Compassionate Living Magazine, back in Cher’s iconic yellow plaid suit jacket and skirt.
During the clip, the character is seen walking into a classroom with shopping bags held high before turning and addressing the students in the room, saying, “Don’t disturb, your girl is back.”
The ad is set to the sound of the hit song Alright by Supergrass, which was featured in the hit 1995 movie and promotes a cash-back program for the brand that Silverstone says Cher would have loved.

She said People: “Rakuten makes it easy to save while you shop, and working with them to revive Clueless for the Super Bowl stage made sense with how much Cher loved to shop—she’d certainly get tons of Cash Back.”
The full ad is scheduled to run during the Super Bowl on February 12.
Silverstone channeled one of her most iconic roles in a new video shared Tuesday.
In the clip, the 46-year-old actress donned the instantly recognizable yellow plaid skirt suit worn by her character Cher in the 1995 classic Clueless.
The Golden Globe-nominated star, who also paid tribute to the teen rom-com at the 27th anniversary last year, played with a piece of gum just like her character during the scene where she was giving a speech in class.
In the caption of his video, he wrote: “I’m going to leave this here.”
The recently shared video showed her wearing an outfit almost identical to the original outfit Cher wore.
The mother-of-one wore a cropped blazer jacket with added red detailing to the plaid design.
Targeted: The ad is set to the sound of Supergrass’ hit song Alright, which was featured in the hit 1995 film and promotes a cash-back scheme for the brand that Silverstone says Cher would have loved.
