An urgent recall has been issued for tahini paste over fears the product could be contaminated with salmonella.
AB World Foods has recalled its Al’Fez Natural Tahini Paste 160g.
The product is sold in Woolworths stores nationwide.
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand warned that the product could cause ‘illness’ if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” the report said.
‘Consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’
Customers who purchased the product are asked to return the item to receive a full refund.
Salmonella is a form of bacterial food poisoning that causes stomach pain and diarrhea.
The condition is usually treated with drinking plenty of fluids and antibiotics if necessary.
