Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common condition that affects the digestive system.

It causes symptoms such as stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. These tend to come and go over time and can last for days, weeks or months.

Alexandra said, “The joke was that after I had all these symptoms, I would also think it was anxiety or something else that was causing it. Fear played a big role in all of this.

“I skipped meals before shows because all the pain would come after eating. I’d be hungry and then put on a show.

“It was just so bad and it got to the point where I thought to myself, ‘I can’t take this anymore.'”

She revealed that she first started wrestling in her early twenties, just after appearing on the X Factor.

She admitted, “It got to the point where I couldn’t control myself and it was an out-of-body experience,” but added that at the time she felt too embarrassed to talk about it, even though she was in ” pain’.

Announcing her pregnancy on social media on Tuesday, Alexandra wrote, “We’re so excited to do all this again,” alongside a throwback photo from her latest pregnancy.

WHAT IS IBS?

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common intestinal disorder that results in stomach pain, gas, diarrhea and constipation.

The condition affects between 25 and 45 million Americans.

About two out of three of them are women.

Most people get their first IBS symptoms before age 40.

The cause of the condition is unknown, but it is thought to be related to abnormalities in the gut bacteria.

Symptoms can be managed, but there is no cure for IBS.

Treatment consists of self-care by making changes in diet, lifestyle, and exercise.

The low Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols (FOMAP) diet is believed to be effective for people with IBS.

It contains eggs, meat, fruits and vegetables, while avoiding dairy and wheat.

Alexandra and her footballer boyfriend Darren, 35, welcomed their first baby eight months ago, but she chose not to reveal the name or gender.

The superstar affectionately calls her firstborn Grape and previously wrote about her love for her baby on Mother’s Day alongside a sweet photo.

She wrote, “My first Mother’s Day as your mother…I feel very blessed. I can’t thank hubby enough for making me feel so special and loved.

My little baby Grape – thank you for making me a better person. Because you made me the best version of myself and showed up in ways I never thought I could… I’m so lucky to be your mom.’

Vicky Pattison was one of the first to congratulate Alexandra on her baby news, writing, “Omg! Congratulations darlings.’

And JLS singer Oritse Williams also wrote: ‘Congrats Al.’

Her happy announcement comes just days after Alexandra told MailOnline she has no problem with Darren moving clubs and leaving her alone to raise their baby.

She told MailOnline she only sees partner Darren twice a week after the goalkeeper joined Bournemouth from Premier League rivals West Ham United in January.

The West End star said that while it’s ‘awkward’ with Darren living and working away, she’s learned to adapt and becoming a mother for the first time last year has shown her how ‘amazing’ women are.

She said, “Whether it’s about kids or your life in general, women just adapt. No shade for men, I love men… but women, oh my God, we make milk to cry out loud!’

She explained: ‘My partner has just moved to Bournemouth, bless him, so he’s not really here. It really makes it difficult for me, but we’ll make it work.’

Alexandra sparked speculation that she had secretly married Darren after calling him “hubby” on Instagram last week.

But she confirmed to MailOnline that the couple are still engaged and that “woman” and “man” are just their pet names for each other.

She said, ‘Let me be very clear on this… I called him ‘hubby’ because he calls me ‘wife’ and they are just nicknames for each other.

“We have to remind him to put a ring on it. It’s just a nickname, but maybe I made a mistake calling him that. It’s his name in my phone so I don’t know what to say to people! There’s no rush, if it has to happen, it will happen.’

Alexandra, who hails from Islington, rose to fame in 2008 when she won the X Factor at the age of 19 and duetted with superstar Beyoncé during the final.

After 15 years of unstoppable hard graft, the singer has charted with Bad Boys, Start Without You and Broken Heels, and finished second on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.

She has since starred in a number of West End shows, including Chicago, The Bodyguard and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in which she performed while pregnant and returned to shortly after giving birth.
