Alexander Isak’s miraculous dribbling sends fans wild and earns him comparison to THIERRY HENRY
That’s what £60 million gets you! Alexander Isak’s superb dribble to create Newcastle’s fourth goal in thumping win over Everton sends fans wild on Twitter… and earns him comparisons to THIERRY HENRY
Alexander Isak’s miraculous dribble to set up Newcastle’s fourth goal in their 4-1 thrashing against Everton on Thursday night had fans taking to Twitter to praise the Magpies’ £60 million man.
The Sweden international, who started on the bench on Sunday despite a strong showing in his side’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, was introduced seven minutes before the performance and rampaged shortly after the home side scored through Everton’s midfield.
Isak picked up the ball just over the halfway line and danced past some blue-shirted defenders to reach the goal line, before firing past Ben Godfrey and firing from the left into the penalty area.
A quick cross to Jacob Murphy at the far post sent Newcastle into dreamland.
Isak’s masterful footwork has earned him a host of new admirers, who are quick to liken him to a Premier League legend.
Alexander Isak’s assist to Jacob Murphy’s fourth for Newcastle was a thing of beauty
Ball looked glued to his feet, the Sweden international covered half the length of the pitch before elegantly putting his team-mate down

One fan said, “Tell me I’m wrong, but he moves like Thierry Henry…”
Instead of challenging him, another added, “This feels very Thierry Henry!”
A third continued: ‘That’s what you get for £60 million’.
The attacker became the Magpies’ record signing in the summer of 2022, having made a big money transfer from Real Sociedad.
His first season at Tyneside was marked by a lengthy stint on the sideline due to injury, but since returning to full fitness in March, Isak has rediscovered his superb scoring form.
In his 16 Premier League appearances, Isak has scored 10, but his stunning assist on Thursday night was his first league assist.
Fans went wild with the player’s stylish yet optimistic assist that saw him slide down the left wing
One fan called his contribution “world-class,” adding, “no other way to describe it just quality.”
Another added: ‘This is unbelievable! What a player!’
Eddie Howe’s side have scored 10 goals in their last two Premier League games as their quest for Champions League football continues this season.
Newcastle are currently third and benefited from Manchester United’s draw against Spurs to put their rivals two points behind.
United, who beat Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final in February, were previously tied with the Tyneside club on points and trailing only due to their goal shortfall.
But some fans couldn’t help wondering if a stronger performance from Everton would have made the feat of skill a little less impressive.
One commenter argued: ‘Can’t let him out of the corner. Defend criminally, no matter how excellent’.
One fan called his performance, which came barely seven minutes after his start, “world class”
But some felt he was boosted by a careless performance by Everton at Goodison Park
Commentators also praised Isak’s selflessness in front of goal in setting up his teammate
After the evening’s thrashing, Everton’s season remains in a precarious state.
Sean Dyche’s side are now six games without a win and desperately need points in their last five games to ensure they stay afloat.
Everton are 19th in the standings and on the verge of being relegated from the top flight since 1951.
Only league leaders Arsenal have a longer, unbroken history at the top level of English football.
