Alexa Chung puts on a leggy display in a sexy silk co-ord as she joins models Adwoa Aboah and Emily Ratajkowski at Victoria Beckham’s Mango launch event in Spain to celebrate her first foray onto the high street

Alexa Chung joined fellow models Adwoa Aboah and Emily Ratajkowski at the launch event of Victoria Beckham’s Mango clothing collection in Spain on Tuesday evening.

The fashion designer, 50, has only just celebrated one of her biggest birthdays but showed no signs of slowing down after flying to Barcelona to launch her new collaboration with Spanish fashion brand Mango.

Victoria, who wore a £180 white suit jacket and matching trousers that evening, was spotted among guests at the party.

Her first foray onto the high street, the new collection costs just a tenth of the price of Ms Beckham’s own label, after it was said she wanted to become ‘more recognisable’.

A sheer black silk dress costs £210 and she has also launched a range of accessories including £120 leather sandals, £140 high heels and a £60 handbag.

During the festive evening, Alexa, 40, put on a leggy show in a sexy white silk co-ord set as she shared a glimpse as she got ready for the party near Girona on the Costa Brava.

She teamed the skimpy co-set with a smart black blazer, sheer tights and stilettos to boost her height.

Alexa wrote the caption as she got her glam on for the night out: “Boop! Already in my outfit. The early bird catches the @victorisbeckham @mango collection…’

After arriving at the event, she posed next to some mannequins with some pieces from the collection that went live on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Victoria arrived in Girona on a private jet as she prepared to head to the event at the airport day of the launch of its new clothing collaboration with the Spanish brand Mango.

She casually dressed in all black as she stepped off the plane and headed to the airport – while an assistant carried her crutches for her as she continued to recover from a broken foot.

Her team was spotted leaving the plane with several bags of clothing ahead of the big night.

The Spice Girl is focusing on her high street collaboration with Mango, her first foray into the affordable market.

Her signature slip dresses, knitwear and tailoring have been remade at a more handbag-friendly price point, compared to the £90 she charges for a t-shirt from her eponymous label, which launched in 2008.

Victoria revealed in an interview with WWD that she decided to work with Mango to “appeal to a broader audience in a way that feels relevant to my brand and maintains my aesthetic and DNA.”

And in an interview with Fashion Last week she insisted she has not compromised on quality, promising that “if you invest in one of these pieces, you won’t just wear them for one season, but they will be pieces that you will have in your wardrobe keep it and wear it all the time. and again and again.’

Victoria called the collection ‘timeless’: ‘I think people will be very surprised by how strong the fashion message is in each garment.’

Fans were quick to share their excitement about the collection, with many on Victoria’s Instagram post claiming to have already purchased a number of items.

“Love the whole collection, just placed my order,” one person commented.

Another said: ‘It’s absolutely beautiful, dresses are so feminine and elegant️, I just got one!’

And industry experts agree that a move to the high street is exactly what designers like Victoria should be focusing on.

Speak with Harper’s Bazaar this week, Dr Bethan Alexander, Lecturer in Fashion Retailing & Marketing at the Fashion Business School, London College of Fashion, said there are huge benefits for both the designer and high street retailers.

“A collaboration between designers is a viable opportunity to increase market share while the designers maintain their market position,” she explained.

‘The luxury market is currently facing unprecedented challenges, so it is particularly important. Maintaining turnover is difficult, but the quick, relatively easy injection of money from collaborations is attractive.’

Last weekend the Spice Girl celebrated her 50th birthday with her family and friends in the south of France and London.

Husband David Beckham, 48, flew to France with Victoria, her four children and her parents on Thursday for dinner at the famous La Colombe d’Or.

And on Saturday, she partied the night away with her A-lister pals, including Tom Cruise, 61, and the rest of her fellow Spice Girls, as they gathered at London’s private club Oswald’s to celebrate.

The Mail on Sunday revealed Victoria called ‘the mother of all returns’ following the collapse of fashion group Matches.

Victoria’s own label team demanded that the online retailer return the entire summer stock she sent to them in March – only to find out days later that the company had gone bankrupt.

Victoria Beckham X Mango will be available from April 23 at Mango.com.
