Alex Turner FORGETS the words to song Mardy Bum during Arctic Monkeys gig in hometown Sheffield

Alex Turner FORGETS fan favorite Mardy Bum’s words at Arctic Monkeys gig in his hometown of Sheffield

Arctic Monkeys returned to their home city of Sheffield this weekend for two big gigs at Hillsborough Park.

But while singing the favorite song Mardy Bum, Alex Turner forgot part of the lyrics and had to turn to the audience for a reminder of how the song goes.

The famous lyric of the 2006 hit is: ‘Now then Mardy Bum, I’ve seen your face and it’s like looking down the loop of a gun’.

The crowd started singing along as the song started, and Alex got off to a good start when he got the words “now, then Mardy Bum.”

The audience then continued with the actual lyrics while trying to jump right into the second chorus, which reads, “Oh, I’m in trouble again, aren’t I?” I thought so.’

Looking around confused, Alex realized he wasn’t singing the right words, but thankfully he was able to rely on the audience to get him back on track.

He soon got back into the mood and nodded to the audience for their help.

The band’s frontman thrilled the crowd as he worked his way through a setlist that included fan favorites Snap Out of It and Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?

Busy promoting their latest album, The Car, the band will be performing in Southampton, London and Dublin before finishing the UK leg of their tour in Glasgow on June 25.

Arctic Monkeys made their highly anticipated return to the big stage this month and have already performed in Manchester, Norwich, Sheffield and Swansea.

LadBible reported that the band performed 21 songs in Bristol and most of them were fan favorites, with only three from the new album.

They wrote that they also treated fans to My Propeller’s first performance in nearly a decade.

They also played 505, Arabella, Teddy Picker, The View From The Afternoon and Fluorescent Adolescent, before finishing with I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and RU Mine?.

Arctic Monkeys will headline Glastonbury this year alongside Guns N’ Roses and Elton John.

The full Glastonbury Festival line-up and stage times were announced on Monday.
