It comes after Alex shot her father Tony last year for disputing his claims about how he abused her as a child, which she has revealed in her new memoir.
In a recent interview, Tony dismissed her claims that he bullied and abused her during a traumatic childhood, insisting that he was strict, but not violent.
Following her father’s comments, Alex told the BBC: “I almost feel angry with myself for allowing him to hurt me again with those statements.”

Tony rejected claims that he was “violent” towards his family during the interview, insisting that he “didn’t know why Alex was saying these things.”
He said: ‘Maybe she’s judging me by today’s standards, I don’t know. Parents were much tougher back then. But I was never violent, that’s not me. I never hit Alex or anyone in the family or did anything like that.
Alex replied: ‘I don’t really care what happened to me. If you say getting hit with a belt is just being strict, I can accept that, I don’t really care about myself.
“What I do care about is my mother and the fear and terror that she had to live in and the fact that I was never able to help her with that, but what I can do is help her now by telling the truth.” And everything I wrote in that book, I stand by. It’s the truth.’

In her new memoir, the BBC football expert described her father as a “controlling violent drunk” who was “stupidly cruel” and that she and her brother frequently overheard him beating their mother, with an incident so violent it she believed she had died.
She once recalled hitting them and making them throw away their toys, insisting that life under him has left her so traumatized that to this day she cannot hug her mother or brother Ronnie.

But speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Tony, 63, vehemently denied the allegations, saying he couldn’t understand why Alex portrays him this way.
He yelled, ‘I have no idea why you’re saying all these things. I grew up in a strict but loving Jamaican family and Alex should know what they are like. I taught her discipline, I did a lot to help her.

Horrible: Alex recalled a time when he hit them and made them drop their toys. She said that her life with him has traumatized her so much that to this day she cannot hug her mother Carol or her brother Ronnie (pictured with them in an old photo).
