Alex Nation publicizes her battle with ‘intense’ postpartum anxiety, says she struggles with intrusive thoughts: ‘I think I need some help’

Alex Nation has revealed her battle with postpartum anxiety.

The Bachelor star, 31, posted on Instagram on Monday where she made a heartfelt confession about her spiraling mental health.

“I’ve noticed that my anxiety, especially my fear for my children’s well-being, has become quite intense since Pearl was born,” Alex said.

Alex revealed that she previously suffered from anxiety when she was pregnant, adding that it can sometimes progress to postpartum depression.

“My anxiety is pretty intense right now because I think I can handle it. [But] the thoughts are too intrusive. They are too common,” she added.

“I’ve had moments where I could rationalize my thoughts and pull myself out of it, but an hour or two later another intrusive thought pops into my mind,” she continued.

Alex explained that she often just “started to cry” because she is “so worried” about her thoughts.

‘It’s the thought. It doesn’t even happen. My children are doing well. But they are so pushy. They are loud,” she added.

Alex added that she already had an appointment with her mother’s health on Wednesday.

“I’ll talk to her and my midwife and GP because I think I need some help,” she said boldly.

“My anxiety is pretty intense right now because I think I can handle it. The thoughts are too intrusive. They are too common,” she added in the heartfelt post

Alex said she wanted to share her experience to help others and start a conversation about postpartum anxiety and depression.

“It can make another woman feel less alone because you’re not alone.” There are many of us on this wild rollercoaster.’

Alex welcomed newborn daughter Pearl last month along with fiancé Carson Jory.

The reality TV star is already a mother to sons Elijah, 11, and Maxwell, one, and says she has no plans to have any more children.
